Background / History

Zhang Lexuan survived the destruction of the Zhang Family as a child, hiding beneath a bed while her mother protected her. Kong Deming later identifies her Silver Moon Martial Soul and appearance as evidence that she carries the Sun Moon Royal Family's bloodline through her grandmother, who had left the Sun Moon Empire. A Heaven Dou Empire noble family reportedly targeted the Zhang Family after Lexuan awakened the Silver Moon Martial Soul. 25 80 81

She was raised within Shrek Academy, becoming its Inner Academy Senior Disciple Sister and Mu En's great-granddaughter. She also raised Bei Bei from childhood; their former engagement was later broken, but she continued to regard him as family. 22 59

After Mu En's condition worsened, he designated Lexuan as Sea God Pavilion Master. Her authority proved limited, however, and she repeatedly had to negotiate or intervene when Shrek's elders and teachers provoked Tang Feng. 28 30 50 59

Following Bei Bei's apparent death, Lexuan agreed to step down as Pavilion Master and follow Tang Feng in exchange for help reviving him. Her attachment to Bei Bei outweighed her loyalty to Shrek and Sea God Pavilion. 60 61

Tang Feng later takes her to the Sun Moon Empire, where Kong Deming confirms her heritage. Lexuan is gentle and protective toward those she considers family, particularly Bei Bei. She intervenes when Tang Feng and Bei Bei violate academy rules, but frames the confrontation as a serious assessment rather than arbitrary punishment. 22

She is also stern toward abuse of authority. She openly condemns Zhou Yi, Du Weilun, and Fan Yu for attempting to expel Tang Feng and for shielding misconduct within Shrek Academy. 30 31

Her loyalty to Shrek deteriorates after repeated failures by its elders, the death of Bei Bei, and the revelation of her own lineage. Lexuan stops Tang Feng, Bei Bei, and Xu Sanshi's conflict, then takes Tang Feng and Bei Bei to the Inner Academy Soul Fighting Arena for an assessment. Tang Feng and Bei Bei force her to use her martial soul, and Tang Feng wounds and ultimately defeats her through Blue Silver Unarmored before healing her injuries. 21 24

Protector of Tang Feng
