Rescue
Two members of Human Adventurer Group walked side by side under the tree, dragging Roy and Klayr's two tents in their hands.
Klayr and Roy exchanged a glance from the tree. If someone picked up their two tents, they might really have to sleep in trees for a while.
The Malaga Jungle are humid and hot, teeming with poisonous ants and mosquitoes. Without a tent, one has to rely on those insect repellent ointments...
But right now, the two of them had no reason to risk their lives against the two Human Adventurer Group below for two tents, so they could only squat in the tree and watch helplessly.
Before the two Adventure Group could even approach, another voice came from the morning mist. "Have you found anything?"
Following the sound, Roy saw a member of Human Adventurer Group walking over from checkpoint number 2. He was wearing exquisite armor, with a longsword at his waist and a shield on his back, looking much better equipped than the other Adventure Group members...
"We found two elven tents, but we don't know who left them there."
The Adventure Group, who was holding the tent, unfolded it and reported to the Chieftain.
"Move back to the camp. Be on high alert. Once the fog clears, elves should start coming this way. Let's see how many fish get in today."
"Yes!" The two Adventure Group dragged the tent and continued walking down the cliff.
Unfortunately, neither Roy nor Klayr could understand what he was saying.
Roy and Klayr, finding they couldn't get close to Checkpoint Two, decided to slip away from the woods quietly.
Because of the morning mist, the Adventure Group didn't notice them. The two hid in a dense forest of weeds and vines. Roy planned to find a higher spot to observe the elves at Checkpoint Two.
This couldn't possibly be some special campsite; it's probably only people who come here for geography class.
As the morning mist gradually dissipated, the jungle became like a steamer again.
Roy and Klayr crouched in the bushes, a full kilometer away from Checkpoint Two.
Klayr's face turned grim as she thought of the stiff, motionless Silver Moon Elf.
"Roy, what do you think... they're trying to do at Checkpoint Two?"
Roy said, "I bet they're capturing students from the Elf Academy. They just need to wait there, and Elf students will keep crashing into them."
The two glanced nervously towards Checkpoint Two, and Klayr asked Roy, "What do we do now?"
"We need to spread the news that the elves have been captured..." Roy said, "Someone needs to stop the students who are going to sign in on the road, and someone else needs to go to the High Ridge to send out SOS Signal Flare. Klayr, you stop the other students who are coming on this road, and I'll go to the mountaintop to SOS Signal Flare!"
"Then you need to be careful!" Klayr knew that firing a signal flare was more dangerous.
Because once a signal flare is fired, it means that one's location is completely exposed, and the members of the Adventure Group will also sneak towards the location where the signal was fired. In this situation, the person who fired the distress signal cannot go too far. Once someone sees the distress signal and comes to provide air support, someone will be needed to meet them.
The two bumped fists, Roy said to Klayr, "You too, be careful, they're professional Hunter."
"Okay," Klayr replied.
Roy gripped his machete, cleaved through a vine, and headed towards the densest part of the mountain forest.
He wanted to find a very difficult forest area to traverse, so that he could stay longer after reaching the mountaintop.
Besides the machete and water bottle, he also carried four Magic Signal Flare on his back. The bushes were filled with weeds and thorny vines, and some parasitic vines hung down from the treetops. Some of the thick giant trees were covered with slippery moss.
As Roy weaved through a swarm of buzzing mosquitoes, he suddenly realized that without Klayr leading the way, the path to the summit had become even more difficult.
"I have to hurry," Roy thought to himself, and quickened his pace once again.
As Roy walked through a dense thicket of weeds, he suddenly felt a chill of fear, worried that a giant lizard might suddenly leap out of the bushes and bite him in half.
Sweat streamed down my face, and the tiny cuts on my body from the thorns stung like needles.
Roy frantically chopped down the weeds in front of him, feeling his arms grow heavy, and he could barely hold onto the machete anymore.
He took a roll of Linen Bandage out of his pocket, gripped the knife handle, and then used the bandage to tightly wrap the handle to his right hand. The advantage of this was that he didn't have to exert any effort to grip the handle, and it felt like the entire machete was an extension of his right arm.
Upon reaching the summit, Roy felt as if the last bit of strength in his body had been drained.
Only then did Roy suddenly realize that he hadn't cast a ' Strength Blessing ' on himself. It didn't seem too late, so Roy first cast ' Minor Healing ' on himself to relieve the pain from the tiny wounds caused by the thorns, and then cast ' Strength Blessing ' on himself. Only then did he feel a trace of power returning to his body.
Finally, he didn't forget to bless himself with a Divine Light before he began to observe the terrain around the mountaintop.
Roy wanted to climb a high cliff that wasn't obscured by trees, but after searching for a long time, he couldn't find an ideal spot. There weren't any particularly prominent High Ridge in the Malaga Jungle.
The mountaintop was covered with dense forests that completely blocked out the sky.
Seeing a large tree with a huge canopy not far away, Roy gritted his teeth and began to try to climb it.
After receiving the Strength Blessing, Roy found climbing trees much easier. Grabbing the branches of the big tree, Roy soon climbed to the top of the tree. Leaning against a sturdy branch, Roy used his machete to cut off all the branches above his head that were blocking his view.
He didn't even let the branch fall to the ground.
Instead, they took out ropes, tied the discarded branches together, and hung them on the branches.
After finally clearing the tree canopy around him, Roy took out a Magic Signal Flare, unwrapped the flare from its packaging, and pulled out the fuse as Klayr had instructed...
Without any sparks or smoke, magical threads appeared on the entire Magic Signal Flare, filling all the space. The Magic Signal Flare then flew out of Roy's hand, silently soaring into the sky before bursting into a dark red flame.
It was like a dazzling firework, but you couldn't hear a sound.
The dark red flames even lingered high in the sky, remaining there for over ten seconds before gradually fading...
As the fireworks exploded in the sky, Roy was still worried about whether the Magic Signal Flare would be spotted by the distant Rescue Team. But when the red flame burst open, Roy breathed a sigh of relief...
Eye-catching and alluring.
It's like a fully blooming red rose.
After releasing the Magic Signal Flare, Roy waited a few minutes before launching another Magic Signal Flare into the sky...
The appearance of two Magic Signal Flare in the sky indicates an extremely urgent situation. Rescue Team that can see the magical signal should drop everything and rush to provide assistance.
After Roy released the second Magic Signal Flare, he still had to wait here...
After the Rescue Team arrives, Roy will fire Magic Signal Flare to provide close-range guidance.
This period was the most dangerous for Roy.
He can only wait in the treetops so he can see the arriving Rescue Team, but waiting where he is is tantamount to suicide...
At Checkpoint Two, the Adventure Group members were waiting for other young elves to walk into their trap.
A dark red Light Flame in the sky shone through the dense foliage of the jungle, making it clearly visible to many members of the Adventure Group...
The warrior Chieftain saw the Light Flame immediately, and his face, which had been laughing heartily, turned gloomy. He stood up abruptly from his seat and waved to the jungle beside him.
A group of Adventure Group who had been lying in ambush all around emerged from their hiding places and gathered around the warrior Chieftain.
Benjamin, the magician sitting to the side, immediately pulled out his Magic Broom, wanting to investigate the direction where the signal flare had lit up, but was pulled back by the warrior Chieftain.
The warrior Chieftain angrily berated the assembled Adventure Group, "What happened? We were discovered so quickly?"
In this situation, naturally no one will step forward to take the blame for everyone else.
The warrior Chieftain scanned the crowd, randomly selected two rangers, pulled them to the front, and then instructed them, "You two go to the location where the signal flare was launched, kill the elf who sent the signal, and then return directly to the Landing Point. We will wait for you on the beach for two hours."
The two wandering knights seemed to be used to doing this kind of cleanup work, and when they heard their Chieftain give such an order, they agreed without hesitation.
"Understood, boss!"
The warrior Chieftain glanced at the Silver Moon Elf students who were bound like dumplings opposite him, ripped off the clothes covering them, and ordered the rest of the group, "Take these guys and let's retreat!"
"..."
The Adventure Group, like leading donkeys, untied the ropes binding the elves' legs and tied another rope around their necks, holding it by their hands.
In that case, it wouldn't be a problem for one Adventure Group to lead five or six elves.
Inside a tent, the Academy Instructor who had been waiting at the registration point for the elf students was now starting to smell bad.
He lay in the tent with his eyes wide open, flies buzzing around the wound on his neck.
The Adventure Group ignored the corpses lying in the tent, instead lifting the last few wounded young elves from the ground and speaking fiercely in Elven Language:
"Are you planning to come with us obediently, or do you want me to hang you right here?"
"Those who don't want to die shouldn't fall behind. Anyone who's slow will be hung up and then stabbed in the chest..."
The young elves, who had been trying to struggle, suddenly fell silent.
A hint of disdain flickered in the eyes of the Adventure Group members...
Just as he reached out to touch the fair face of an elf girl next to him, the warrior Chieftain, who had strode over, grabbed his head with a large hand.
The warrior Chieftain leaned close to him and said in a hoarse voice:
"The starting price for a perfectly healthy elf girl at the auction house is fifty Magic Crystal Stone. If you can come up with that amount of money, I don't mind selling her to you. Selling her to anyone is the same as selling her... and it will save you a lot of trouble, right?"
The Adventure Group's head was being gripped by a large hand, and he dared not resist. He stared at the warrior Chieftain in horror, his face full of pleading.
The warrior Chieftain continued speaking to himself:
"But I don't think you've saved enough money! So... if you want to keep this claw from turning into a cold iron hook, you have to control it, can you?"
"Yes! Boss, I can..."
The Adventure Group responded, his voice trembling.
