Roy's Choice
The elven mage glanced at Roy with a puzzled look. Seeing that Roy did not feel any discomfort, he activated another Magic Rune Plate, and the trickle of mana turned into a torrent of mana.
The glowing band on the Magic Crystal pillar suddenly rose a large distance again, reaching half the total length of the pillar.
Roy still showed no signs of discomfort.
The elven mage hesitated for a moment, then asked Roy, "Are you feeling any discomfort?"
Roy shook his head.
The elven mage activated the last Magic Rune Plate on the Mithril Box, and the pillar of light inside the Magic Crystal continued to rise, even continuing to rise until it reached three-quarters of the way up the Magic Crystal.
The band of light rose toward the top of the Magic Crystal pillar.
The elven mage had stopped staring at the scale and finally couldn't help but ask Roy:
"Are you Great Mage?"
Seeing that the elven mage didn't sound like he was joking, Roy quickly said:
"I am a... Priest."
The elven mage looked at Roy with disbelief and said:
"Your capacity is currently very high, reaching the limit for an intermediate-level mage..."
The so-called intermediate mage mentioned by the elven mage is actually a first-tier mage, an existence of the same level as the High Priest, while the Great Mage mentioned by the elven mage is Second Rank powerhouse, which is considered to be at the same level Combat Priest.
Roy immediately realized that the high load-bearing capacity displayed on the Magic Crystal was inconsistent with his status Novice Priest, and it was very likely that the Holy Light Sapling inside his body was the culprit.
Fearing the elven mage would discover something amiss, he quickly withdrew his hand and whispered:
"Oh dear, I think I can't take it anymore..."
That expression... looks a bit fake!
This left the elven mage speechless.
In the Elf Continent, it is usually impossible to judge an elf's age by their appearance.
Therefore, the elven mage didn't think there was anything wrong with Roy having such a high magical capacity.
Roy seemed unwilling to continue testing, as the load-bearing capacity testing Magic Crystal had almost reached its testing limit.
The elven mage glanced at the scale on the Magic Crystal band and said to Roy, "Your carrying capacity is about 143, but I don't think that might be the true upper limit of your carrying capacity."
"Well, I really can't hold on much longer."
Roy clutched his stomach and said...
He felt that saying it this way might seem more truthful.
The elven mage really wanted to roll his eyes at Roy...
But given his professional ethics as an appraiser, he managed to hold back.
Roy paid 100 Kole's appraisal fee and ran away from the Primary Appraisal Office.
Feeling the Holy Light Sapling within his body subside, Roy stood in the main hall of the Magic Guild. He thought about how his high capacity meant he could inscribe Magic Inscription Construct onto Thick Leather Armor ...
With that in mind, he decided to go and browse the Magic Shop.
There happened to be a Magic Shop right across from the Primary Appraisal Office. Roy went in and asked the shop Boss, only to find out that there was actually Magic Workshop dedicated to Magic Inscription Construct.
Following the directions given by the Magic Shop Boss, Roy arrived at an Inscription Workshop and stopped.
Pushing open the heavy ironwood door, Roy entered the workshop.
The storefront doesn't look very big, but the inside is quite spacious.
The reception counter alone is more than ten meters long.
Three Silver Moon Elf female receptionists stood side by side in front of the counter. Seeing Roy enter the shop, they smiled and said to Roy:
Welcome to Inscription Workshop!
The Silver Moon Elf maidens are undeniably beautiful.
Seeing that they were all wearing gray striped magic robes, Roy said very politely:
"Um! I'd like to see the Magic Inscription Construct,"
One of the round-faced Silver Moon Elf nodded to Roy, and when she smiled, she revealed a fang.
This is very rare among elves...
She smiled at Roy and said, "Do you want to buy the Magic Inscription Construct set directly, or do you want to inscribe runes on your existing magical armor?"
Roy was a little unsure of which option to choose, so he said:
"I have a set of Thick Leather Armor and I want to inscribe some magic runes on it."
The elven maid immediately said, "Understood, please follow me."
The Silver Moon Elf maid led Roy to an exhibition hall, where a set of crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling.
The surrounding walls were adorned with exquisite oil paintings depicting the beautiful scenery created by nature. However, these beautiful scenes always concealed some awe-inspiring monsters, sometimes showing a patch of skin, sometimes an eye, sometimes half a tail...
The room was surrounded by a row of display stands, covered with a layer of dark red velvet.
On the velvet cloth were some exquisite wooden boxes, each with a piece of somewhat irregular animal hide on its surface.
Roy discovered that the animal hides were engraved with various magical runes.
The Silver Moon Elf maidservant smiled and said to Roy:
"You can purchase these existing Magic Inscription Construct and simply insert them into the appropriate positions on your armor, but this requires a certain amount of space on your armor! Of course, you can also have a Magic Inscription Construct custom-made for your Magic Inscription Construct, but this requires an appointment."
Roy noticed that each animal hide with its enchanted pattern had a note underneath explaining its function.
He saw a ' Stone Skin ' Magic Inscription Construct at the very edge, and further in was a 'Sprint' Magic Inscription Construct. He stopped, pointed at the ' Stone Skin ' Magic Inscription Construct, and asked the elven maid, "How much does a ' Stone Skin ' Magic Inscription Construct like this cost?"
Roy only saw the number '20' on the tag under the animal hide.
If it's twenty Kole... Roy thinks it's unlikely to be that cheap.
The elven maidservant extended a slender white finger, pointed to the number on the tag, and said, "The price is marked here... 20 Magic Crystal Stone!"
Even though he was somewhat prepared, Roy was still taken aback; it was really expensive.
A Magic Inscription Construct requires 20 Magic Crystal Stone.
Roy counted on his fingers and realized that he would need to save for about six months to afford the cheapest level one ' Stone Skin ' Magic Inscription Construct.
Advanced Magic Inscription Construct are even more expensive...
After only seeing a few level-one Magic Inscription Construct, Roy was scared off and gave up.
He repeatedly told the elven maid that he didn't want to watch anymore.
As he approached the door, before he could even leave, he saw an elven lady push the door open and walk in.
She was wearing a dark magic robe, and her long silver hair cascaded down like a waterfall. When she turned around and saw Roy, she asked in surprise, "Roy, what are you doing here?"
Roy never expected to meet Magician Scarlett here.
"Good afternoon, Magician Scarlett!"
Roy said respectfully, "I'm just here for a casual stroll."
The magician Scarlett's eyes lit up, and she asked Roy with a smile, "Want to see the Magic Inscription Construct?"
Seeing that Roy did not deny it, she grabbed Roy's arm and pulled him back into the shop.
Several Silver Moon Elf maidens bowed to Scarlett in unison and said, "Good afternoon, Teacher Scarlett!"
Scarlett nodded to them, then whispered to Roy, "Come on, I'll show you around. I work part-time at this Magic Workshop. You can tell me which Magic Inscription Construct you like, and I can give you the lowest possible discount."
Scarlett led Roy directly through the exhibition hall displaying the ' Stone Skin ' Magic Inscription Construct and into the second exhibition hall.
Roy saw that although they were all level 1 Magic Inscription Construct, the lowest price was marked as '50'. Roy stopped and looked at the label, which clearly read ' Iron Armor '.
"This ' Iron Armor ' is not bad, suitable for inscribing on Hard Leather Armor. If you have a set of metal Magic Armor, don't choose this one, inscribing ' Magic Armor ' would be more suitable."
Scarlett stood to the side and patiently explained.
"As a seasoned mage proficient in inscription, I do not recommend that you choose this type of armor-enhancing Magic Inscription Construct."
Scarlett pointed to a piece of light blue leather with a note on it that read '80'.
She explained to Roy, "This is ' Spirit Gathering,' which allows for a continuous and rapid recovery of mental energy during battle. Whether you're Priest or a mage, this Magic Inscription Construct is extremely useful!"
Roy grinned. This Magic Inscription Construct alone would require him to save up for two years without eating or drinking.
Seeing that Roy didn't seem very interested in these Magic Inscription Construct, Scarlett led Roy to a corner of the exhibition hall. The two sat down at a round table, and immediately an elven maid brought them two cups of fruit tea.
Scarlett picked up her fruit tea and asked Roy, "Roy, do you live in the Lower District?"
"Um."
"You live with your mother?"
"Um."
"Your mother is a Silver Moon Elf?"
"Yes..."
"How long have you been Priest?"
"It's been more than two months."
Roy answered honestly.
The magician Scarlett took a sip of her fruit tea and said with a smile, "Ah, you really are a newbie! Nora told me that last month when you were doing your extracurricular activity in the Magala Jungle, you discovered that the check-in point was attacked?"
"It's all down to luck," Roy replied.
The magician Scarlett laughed heartily, rolled her eyes, and said:
"Actually, luck is also a part of ability..."
Scarlett pointed to the Magic Inscription Construct around them, winked at Roy, and whispered, "Which Magic Inscription Construct have you taken a fancy to?"
Roy said guiltily:
"Every Magic Inscription Construct here is excellent."
Scarlett glanced at Roy, roughly understanding his situation, and said, "That's true. Have you tested your magic carrying capacity? Which type of Magic Inscription Construct do you prefer?"
Roy thought about it seriously, and when he thought of the Thick Leather Armor in his Magic Pouch, he said, "I prefer protective gear that enhances armor, such as Stone Skin, Iron Armor, and Magic Armor."
"Of course, support-type items are also good, like Stamina Recovery and Spirit Gathering, but they're just too expensive..."
The sorceress Scarlett, sitting there, added, "Actually, there's something even better. Once you become Priest, you'll realize that casting speed and magical power are even more important! Like Agile Thoughts, Mana Catalysis..."
Then she said to Roy with a serious expression:
"Roy, every elf has a limited capacity. You can't have every Magic Inscription Construct, so you can only choose the one that suits you best. Even if it's a little more expensive, don't just choose randomly. It would be a huge waste if you regret it later, understand?"
"Knew."
Roy nodded.
Stepping out of the Magic Workshop, Roy looked at the somewhat dazzling sunlight overhead...
Roy stood on the steps, gazing into the distance.
The blue sky and the azure sea meet at the horizon.
He suddenly realized that it seemed as if he had unintentionally pushed open a brand new door...
What do you mean by only choosing the most suitable Magic Inscription Construct...?
As adults, of course we should choose both!
