Smuggling
The owl flew through the woods of Rampart Town, leading Roy to the outskirts of the town. It flapped its wings and flew up to a branch, intending to stop and wait for Roy for a little while. Roy practically ran all the way to the woods of Rampart Town.
Roy stopped under a large tree when the owl landed on it.
He sat quietly under the tree for a while before Kaka and Little Eugene emerged from a bush. Roy knew their griffin mounts were nearby, but they had to hide for fear of being discovered by the Elf Warrior of Rampart Town, and all their actions had to be done with extreme caution.
The reason the Elf Warrior of the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion were so hostile towards these Beast Tamer was simply because they came from the south of the Griffon Bulwark Mountain Range and were also Beast Tamer. Griffins are the natural enemies of Silver Pegasus.
They even went so far as to station an army in Rampart Town Rampart Town and exercise dual control over its population and resources.
Roy initially thought that the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion was trying to nip the Half-Elf Rebel Army in the bud. Later, Roy realized that the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion didn't care about the Rebel Army at all. In their eyes, the Rebel Army were just a bunch of rabble.
What they really cared about were the Half-Elf Beast Tamer south of the Griffon Bulwark Mountain Range.
In the past two years, the Silver Pegasus Legion has become increasingly strict in its control over various resources, probably because they don't want the elves south of the Griffon Bulwark Mountain Range to receive sufficient supplies...
Last spring, Roy contacted Kaka and Little Eugene in Bulwark Village, and they told Roy about the difficulties they were facing.
Every time Roy came to Rampart Town, he would bring them some daily necessities.
Roy's identity was special, so no Elf Warrior checked his luggage...
"Roy, we came Little Eugene as soon as we received your message." Kaka stepped forward and hugged Roy.
Roy hugged Little Eugene and then lowered his voice to ask, "Kaka, Little Eugene, how have you been lately?"
"The local government has imposed a strict blockade on daily necessities, so the village is lacking in almost everything," Kaka answered honestly.
Roy was aware of this situation; three of the Half-Elf he bailed out of Padesto City had been arrested for illegally trading goods.
"We'll find a way. Maybe it won't be long before they lift the blockade!" Roy reassured the two. "Come with me..."
The supplies Roy brought this time were not transported into Rampart Town, but hidden in a secluded forest outside the town.
He led Kaka and Little Eugene to find the pile of supplies. The three of them came to a hillside, where Roy pointed to a large pile of supplies from a bush and said, "You need to move these supplies as soon as you are absolutely safe. No one can guarantee that these supplies will not be discovered by other elves tomorrow if they are hidden here."
Kaka watched as Roy forcefully ripped open the waterproof tarpaulin, revealing a mountain of supplies. Standing beside Roy, she exclaimed in amazement:
"Roy, how did you manage to bring so many supplies here?"
Roy smiled smugly and said, "As the governor of Rampart Town, I do have some privileges. As for these supplies, you can make several trips to get this batch of goods up the mountain first, and then do other things."
Kaka and Little Eugene were both taking inventory of the supplies. Little Eugene was taciturn and rarely spoke.
However, Kaka, being a very outgoing person, couldn't help but ask Roy, "Roy, how much longer are you going to stay here?"
"We're setting off for the Pagisto Plateau tomorrow. I've heard there are some Half-Elf living there..." Roy said casually.
"Are you going to the Pagisto Plateau? There are some Half-Elf tribes there, and the situation is quite complicated, so you should be careful..." Kaka reminded Roy.
Roy glanced around and, seeing no Elf Warrior approaching, all three breathed a sigh of relief.
Roy delivered these supplies to Kaka and Little Eugene, thus completing his last task in Rampart Town.
When Roy returned to Rampart Town, Roy felt his steps were incredibly light...
He knew that the blockade against the Pattington Plane might be lifted soon, because the Pattington Plane couldn't remain closed indefinitely.
Kaka tied a bag of flax thread to the griffin's back, and the two of them prepared to move the supplies to a cave halfway up the mountain overnight.
Because Roy had prepared so many supplies, Kaka and Little Eugene flew five times in a row, but still half of them were not transported.
Just as Little Eugene was busy moving supplies, Kaka suddenly stopped and turned to his friend Little Eugene, saying:
"Little Eugene, that plateau to the west... I want to see it too."
Without a second thought, Little Eugene said, "Kaka, the elders won't agree to you going to that plateau over there. Give up on that idea; it's even more chaotic there than here!"
Kaka stood next to the griffin and, before mounting it, said to Little Eugene, "Little Eugene, please find a way to transport the supplies hidden halfway up the mountain back. I think their Adventure Group needs a scout, and I think I can do it."
"You know how dangerous the mine owners over there are, you'd better not go to such a dangerous place." Little Eugene was startled and quickly grabbed Kaka's arm with both hands.
Kaka smiled smugly, "Okay, I promise you, I'll be very careful."
Roy's Adventure Group left Rampart Town on the morning of the third day after arriving in Rampart Town.
Roy and his group of six rented six horses in Rampart Town and rode westward along the Forest Path.
Surprisingly, there are still well-defined Forest Path near the Rampart Town, and these paths are not difficult to walk on.
On the third night after Roy's Adventure Group left Rampart Town, they were already on the edge of the Lapis Lazuli Forest. Further west, they would enter the hilly area in the bushes. The forests here were in patches, with large tracts of trees separated by grasslands and bushes.
The mountain ranges became clearer here, and this was also a hunting ground for the Griffins of the Bulwark Mountain Range.
The Elf Warrior of the Silver Pegasus Legion rarely patrol this area...
The Adventure Group camped in a woodland area inhabited by many Wind Fox and dire wolves. It was Moira and Miss Tiffany's first time adventuring in the jungle, and they were filled with curiosity about everything there.
Therefore, Roy decided that the Adventure Group should hunt a few Wind Fox or dire wolves in this area so that Miss Tiffany and Moira could get used to jungle life as soon as possible.
On a grassy slope ahead, several Wind Fox were moving rapidly northward. There were two adult Wind Fox and three Wind Fox cubs. Woods was in the team, and he was very good at tracking wild animals in the wild.
However, just now, Klayr accidentally made a sound that startled the Wind Fox, which is why they ran north along the grassland without regard for anything else.
Roy didn't plan to continue chasing north, because that would expose the Adventure Group on the grassy slope...
"Hey, Klayr, can't you be a little more careful?"
Miss Tiffany couldn't help but complain as she watched the Wind Fox escape just as it was about to walk into the trap.
"I'll definitely be more careful next time..." Klayr said apologetically.
