397 Mine Convenience Store
At the main gate of the backyard of the North Mithril Mine, two Half-Elf craftsmen spent two days building a small wooden cabin as requested by Roy.
This is a house made of wooden planks, with an oak floor inside.
Then, after another day of hammering and banging, the cabin was divided into two rooms. One room had two rows of shelves, while the other room had only a chair and a mirror. Outside the cabin, there were two rows of benches and a long table, which looked rather novel.
When the log cabin was first built, everyone was very curious, but then they forgot about it.
It wasn't until the wooden house was completely built that the Half-Elf and the Gray Dwarf noticed the house painted green again.
The house's color was very eye-catching, and occasionally the Half-Elf passing by would peek inside through the window, curious about what the house was for...
When all the goods were on the shelves and each item had a price tag, the Half-Elf realized that a general Grocery Store had actually opened in the Mithril Mine.
Roy even gave the convenience store a nice name, '7-ELEVEn'.
However, neither the Half-Elf nor the Gray Dwarf recognized these letters and thought Roy had drawn a row of profound and difficult-to-understand runes.
The items displayed on the two rows of shelves were very simple, including daily necessities such as blankets, work clothes, boots, gloves, belts, water cups, plates, and spoons. Surprisingly, there were also food items such as apples, Breadfruit, smoked fish, barley cakes, Sea Salt, Maple Syrup, and ale. Each item was not displayed in large quantities on the shelves, except for the ale, which was in a large wooden barrel, with some wooden glasses placed on a square plate next to it.
The room next door was much cleaner, with only a recliner and a mirror inside. The round pillar at the entrance even had a spiral pattern like a three-colored ribbon painted on it, and the elves recognized it as a barbershop at a glance.
Some curious Half-Elf wanted to go inside the Grocery Store and take a look. After seeing the price lists on the shelves and touching the money pouches at their waists, these elves realized the true value of the Kole coins in their pockets.
Many elves would buy a spoon or a water cup, then happily run out to tell their companions about the Grocery Store at the entrance of the Mithril Mine.
Then another elf went to buy some Sea Salt and maple syrup.
This way, when they go down into the mine to work, they can bring a pot of sweet fruit tea, which is a great way to replenish their energy.
When the Grocery Store first opened, only a few Half-Elf went to try it out, and Half-Elf even used their newly received salary to buy themselves a pair of boots.
The Gray Dwarf also found the goods in the Grocery Store, which were very attractive to them, especially the unopened oak barrel, the row of smoked fish hanging on the rope, and the stack of bread coated in wheat flour on the shelf.
The room next door was a barbershop, and the Gray Dwarf finally couldn't contain their curiosity and crowded around to ask how they could buy food from the general store.
The Half-Elf guarding the general store told the Gray Dwarf, "These goods can only be bought with Kole!"
The Gray Dwarf were somewhat bewildered. They had toiled in the Mithril Mine for decades and had never even seen what Kole looked like. Now they were being asked to use Kole to buy things at the Grocery Store ...
So a group of Gray Dwarf could only stand at the entrance of the Grocery Store, watching helplessly as the Half-Elf went Grocery Store to buy daily necessities.
It seems that shopping at Grocery Store has become a trend, with many Half-Elf buying boots Grocery Store...
The Gray Dwarf finally figured out one thing: these Half-Elf miners were paid 100 Kole a day. In addition, the Gray Dwarf also learned another crucial thing.
According to the new Mine Owners's regulations, the two hundred Half-Elf miners are to mine a total of one hundred and twenty mine carts of Mithril Mine per day.
Once this quantity is reached, the mine will award 20 Kole bonuses for each additional truckload of ore mined.
Some Half-Elf miners, in order to earn more Kole, would dig a little longer in the mine after completing their daily mining quota. That's how the piles of Mithril Mine in the mine gradually accumulated.
The Gray Dwarf were very envious of the Half-Elf who could freely buy goods from the general store.
In particular, there was an unopened barrel of ale in the shop, and many Gray Dwarf would run to the outside of the general store every day to peek inside.
The Gray Dwarf need Kole to trim their beards, buy ale, smoked fish, and barley cakes.
Therefore, obtaining some Kole became the biggest problem for the Gray Dwarf in these Mithril Mine.
The Gray Dwarf miners work every day without pay...
The Gray Dwarf were desperate for some Kole, so they came up with a good idea: to negotiate with the half-elves. The Gray Dwarf Half-Elf to go to the mines to mine, dig out a cartload of ore, and hand it over to the Half-Elf in exchange for fifteen Kole.
The Half-Elf did not object to the Gray Dwarf doing this, but they did have a few conditions. The mining area in the mine was predetermined by the Half-Elf.
Another rule is that the mines must not be made dirty, otherwise the Gray Dwarf will be disqualified from mining...
A cartload of ore can be exchanged for twenty Kole. After the Gray Dwarf hand it over to the Half-Elf, they will receive fifteen Kole, and the other five Kole are the Half-Elf ' commission.
Fifteen Kole at the grocery store could be exchanged for a glass of ale and a small piece of barley cake.
Smoked fish is quite expensive; 15 Kole can only get you one smoked fish that's only the size of a sardine.
Once these things were settled, the Gray Dwarf had worked all day at the forge workshop would pick up their pickaxes after dinner and go down into the mine to dig for Mithril Mine. At first, only a few Gray Dwarf tried it secretly, but after they received their reward of fifteen Kole, they went to the small Grocery Store and finally got the clerk to open the oak barrel containing ale...
For a moment, it seemed as if the entire Mithril Mine was filled with the faint aroma of ale.
The Gray Dwarf in the Mithril Mine were instantly agitated. Then Gray Dwarf suddenly realized that the mine's system of working six days and resting one day had really been implemented.
However, in order for the furnace to operate normally, everyone has to take turns resting.
The shrewd Gray Dwarf realized that there were still the same number of people and the same amount of work in the furnace workshop. If someone was taking a break, his work for the day would have to be shared with the other Gray Dwarf.
Since everyone takes turns, naturally no Gray Dwarf complains...
Having a day off for no reason seems pretty good.
Speaking of this day off, the Gray Dwarf originally planned to relax and perhaps even have a glass of ale, but they found their pockets were emptier than their faces. What could they do? Of course, they took advantage of the day off to carry their pickaxes into the mines and dig for Mithril Mine.
For every cartload of ore they dug up, they could earn fifteen Kole from a Half-Elf miner. So, on their days off, the Gray Dwarf would usually get up early, go to the mines to dig up a cartload of Mithril Mine, and after getting the money, they would go to the Grocery Store in the evening to buy a glass of ale and a small piece of bread. Or, they could grit their teeth and work a little harder to dig up two cartloads of Mithril Mine, which would not only allow them to have a drink but also get a beard trim.
This kind of life suddenly seems to have a purpose.
Mining enthusiasm is at an all-time high at the North Mithril Mine...
Roy was put into the position of Mine Owners by Earl Swynborne; in fact, he never actively fought for anything.
Now he's gradually getting things sorted out at the North Mithril Mine. He's just waiting for the logistics team to arrive as soon as possible, take Mine Owner Harold's family away, and empty the rooms on the third floor of the castle. Roy will then leave to take over three Black Iron Mine in another mountain range.
Roy wanted to have a good talk with Commander Berkeley. If he wanted the Mithril Mine to become profitable as soon as possible, he needed the logistics department to send the Gray Dwarf prisoners of war over here as soon as possible.
Due to Roy's lack of experience, all the Half-Elf miners at the South Mithril Mine left, and the mine could only last for two months...
Before Roy could finish writing his report, Commander Berkeley arrived at the North Mithril Mine with a caravan. Moreover, the supplies he brought were quite extravagant; the entire caravan was fully loaded with goods, and even his Magic Pouch was filled with all sorts of supplies.
Judging from his posture, it was as if he had transported all the supplies from the Valley Camp over.
When Roy saw the Commander Berkeley, the two hugged, and the Commander Berkeley took the opportunity to pat Roy's shoulder heavily. Roy quickly led the Commander Berkeley to his office.
Before Roy could even sit down, he was stunned by the news brought by the Commander Berkeley. His eyes widened as he stared at the Commander Berkeley and said:
"What, is the Seventeenth Silver Pegasus Legion preparing to withdraw entirely from the Pagisto Plateau?"
Commander Berkeley, sitting opposite Roy, shook his head and corrected him with a solemn expression. "It's not that we're preparing for a full withdrawal, but rather that we've almost finished. The main force of the legion, the Silver Pegasus Warrior, has already returned to the Elf Continent through the Teleportation Portal. Only some Guard Regiment are temporarily unable to leave, but they probably won't last long. If no one goes to take over the mines, some mines may be abandoned altogether."
"Why the rush?" Roy asked.
Commander Berkeley whispered, "A large number of Gray Dwarf pirates have appeared on Empress Ivini Islands, and the current situation is somewhat critical. The Silver Pegasus Legion withdrew from the Pattington Plane overnight in order to firmly hold the Empress Ivini Islands, so... the news of the Silver Pegasus Legion's withdrawal from the Pattington Plane probably can't be kept secret for long."
" At the Valley Camp, everyone who could be evacuated has been evacuated, and all supplies that do not need to be taken have been transported to the various mines."
"The Valley Camp is urging you to immediately drop everything and take over the three Black Iron Mine as soon as possible to free up the Guard Regiment there."
Roy looked grim, thinking, "Now that you've all left, how can these mines possibly stop those Highland Slavers..."
However, he said, "If you all leave at once, what will we do here?"
"We left all the military supplies behind!" Commander Berkeley hurriedly said, "If we can't hold the line, we'll tighten our defenses and deal with the situation on the Pattington Plane after the fighting on the Empress Ivini Islands is over..."
