Abel's Escape Plan (Part 2)
The Secret Passage was very long, but the section inside the mithril Silver Mine Castle was very well hidden. Olysses followed behind Abel and walked down the steep steps for a long time, feeling as if they had almost reached the belly of the small mountain where the castle was located, before it stretched out in one direction.
Olysses was completely disoriented in the Secret Passage and had no idea where the exit was.
This Secret Passage was built very well hidden. Besides a thick layer of dust, rats would occasionally slip out from the cracks in the rocks.
The Secret Passage was poorly ventilated, stuffy and hot.
Sweat dripped down the heavy armor and into the steel boots, soaking the lining and leaving the feet sticky inside – a truly indescribable feeling.
Olysses, who has been living a life of luxury for years, feels her strength rapidly draining away...
But Abel had no intention of stopping to rest at all.
Olysses knew that even if he suggested taking a break, Abel wouldn't agree, so he could only grit his teeth and persevere.
Olysses hadn't expected the secret Secret Passage to be so long. He estimated that he must have been walking through Secret Passage all night and still hadn't found the exit.
Abel was very careful when he built the Secret Passage.
Along the way, there were more than a dozen forks in the Secret Passage.
Even if Elf Warrior catch up with you, you'll still have to make choices constantly in this intricate Secret Passage.
Just as Olysses was completely disoriented, Abel stopped. He first made sure there were no pursuers behind him before standing in front of a stone wall in the Secret Passage. He asked Olysses to come and help him, and the two of them pushed a huge rock into the passage together. A passage resembling a dog hole appeared in the Secret Passage. Abel bent over and crawled in, then gestured for Olysses to follow.
This passage, barely wider than a dog hole, was a real ordeal for Olysses, who was clad in heavy armor.
Because his shoulders were too broad, his shoulder armor got stuck at the corner of the passage.
If Abel hadn't turned around and helped him unfasten the breastplate and remove the heavy armor, he probably would have been stuck in the passage and starved to death...
The exit of the passage was a crevice in the rock wall. Abel hid at the edge of the crevice, peered out, and, making sure there were no Half-Elf Warrior on the hillside, let out a long sigh. He leaned weakly against the side of the crevice and said to Olysses:
"We finally escaped. This was really tough. The shelter I built is 20 kilometers away from here. Let's hide here for now and go to the shelter after dark."
While saying these words, Abel was not idle either; he led Olysses up the narrow crevice.
After climbing up the rock face, the two hid on a high platform in a crevice.
Abel Abir pulled out two Sleeping Bag from his Magic Pouch, nailed two hooks to the rock face with Iron Awl, and the two of them hung the Sleeping Bag on them before crawling Sleeping Bag, looking like silkworms suspended in the crevice of the rock.
The entire escape went very smoothly, so smoothly that Abel began to doubt whether Roy, the Mine Owners, was really a good-for-nothing.
Escaping the Wochak Mountain Mithril Mine so easily, how utterly boring!
A Assassin Squad emerged silently from the passageway exit. They had tracked the group all the way before finally finding this hidden exit.
The crevice was dark, and they hid in the shadows. Even a skunk that slipped through the crevice failed to spot the Dark Moon Elf Warrior.
When Vice Captain Tennyson emerged from the tunnel, Abel was hanging two Sleeping Bag high up in the crevice with Olysses.
The actions of the Abil mine owner stunned Fielding, the Darkmoon Elf warrior following behind Vice-Captain Tannison: "What on earth is this guy trying to do...?"
"Why do you care so much! Everyone get to work. The Silver Pegasus Legion has precedents for executing Mine Owners who flee to avoid punishment; they can be executed during the pursuit." Vice Captain Tennyson's voice was somewhat cold.
As he spoke, Captain Tennyson, like a gecko, silently climbed up the rock face, bracing himself with his hands and feet against the crevices.
The body of Vice Captain Tennyson became blurred in the shadows.
Unfortunately, it wasn't nighttime, so his body couldn't be completely concealed.
Vice Captain Tennyson crawled to the Sleeping Bag, pulled a dagger from his thigh, and silently stabbed it into one of the Sleeping Bag. But just as the dagger touched the Sleeping Bag Sleeping Bag, a pale golden Light Shield suddenly rose up around it.
Then the Sleeping Bag suddenly burst open, and a surprised-looking Mine Owner Abel crawled out and jumped onto the high platform next to the crevice.
He gripped Flame-like Short Dagger in one hand and Light Feather Bow in the other, his eyes fixed on Vice Captain Tennyson.
At the same time, the Sleeping Bag that Olysses was in suddenly tore open, and the strong Olysses emerged from it, wielding Dual Swords. The two Storm Greatsword swung towards Vice Captain Tennyson's neck.
Olysses his feet braced against the rock walls on either side of the crevice, Vice Captain Tennyson quickly slid down to avoid the strangulation attack.
At that moment, the Mine Owner Abel, standing on the platform in the crevice, drew his Light Feather Bow to full strength towards Vice Captain Tennyson, and a nimble magical Fletched Arrow shot out with a 'whoosh'.
But the next second, before he could even see if Vice Captain Tennyson had been hit by an arrow, he felt a cold dagger pressed against his throat. The icy touch and sharp blade made his neck ache.
The Mine Owner Abel, didn't even have time to turn around and look at the ambush behind him before his throat was cleaved by this short dagger.
He released the Light Feather Bow and the short dagger, his hands covering his bleeding neck, unable to utter a single word.
He felt the source of his power slowly disappearing, and the world before his eyes gradually became extremely blurry. He couldn't breathe properly...
Then, the Mine Owner Abel knelt on one knee on the rock crevice, his blood Wind of Elegance Magic Inscription Construct on his body crimson.
Captain Timothy stood on the stone platform, the very man who had just slit the neck of the Arbil Mine Owner Abel Mine Owner Abel, ending his life of crime.
Olysses forced Vice Captain Tennyson back with a single sword strike, and then he lunged towards Vice Captain Tennyson through the crevice in the rock.
Olysses is a Sword Dancer clad in Full Coverage Heavy Armor, a type of Heavy Armor Sword Dancer that is, to a certain extent, a complete counter to assassins.
Vice Captain Tennyson was cleaved back by Olysses's sword. Fielding and Kuniel from the Assassin Squad closed in from both sides of the crevice. This time, the Assassin Squad had caught up with a total of six Dark Moon Elf Warrior.
Two months ago, this Assassin Squad might have had no advantage against the combined forces of Mine Owner Abel and Olysses...
However, after two months of training on the battlefield, the Assassin Squad members have all greatly improved their skills.
Although Olysses was very brave, as a Sword Dancer, he was trapped between the rocks and could not use any moves at all, especially since the Storm Greatsword was very clumsy.
Two assassins pounced, severing tendons and strangling the throat...
Olysses's body slid down the crevice and became lodged at the bottom.
The Assassin Squad carried the bodies of Mine Owner Abel and Olysses directly back to the castle at the Wochak Mountain Mithril Mine.
The square in front of the castle was filled with Half-Elf and Dark Moon Elf miners. They surrounded the Dark Moon Elf Warrior of the Assassin Squad in the center, and then they saw the Mine Owner Abel, who was covered in blood and whose body was already stiff.
Then, the entire square erupted in a long-suppressed cheer and sobbing.
These cheers and cries seemed to be an official declaration that the miners of the Wochak Mountain Mithril Mine were completely free.
The Half-Elf Warrior of the Mine Guard remained very calm. Some of them maintained order in the castle square, while others took out some Half-Elf Warrior from the mine warehouse and distributed it to the miners in the square.
Right in front of the small gate on the other side of the square, Tiffany's team, along with a squad of Half-Elf Warrior, was examining the bodies of some elf miners. Half-Elf and Dark Moon Elf who passed the medical examination could join the Mine Guard team.
In the morning, the elven miners at the Wochak Mountain Mithril Mine specifically sought out Roy and asked Roy to join the Mine Guard team.
That's why Roy made this arrangement in the small square. According to the elf miners in the mine, joining the Mine Guard team would make them feel safer, so many miners hoped to join the Mine Guard team.
The bodies of Mine Owner Abel and Olysses were laid out in the middle of the square and buried in the Half-Elf cemetery on the west side of the castle in the afternoon.
'A Silver Moon Elf Mine Owners in the northern part of the Pagisto Plateau was killed by the Mine Guard while fleeing to escape punishment...'
The news quickly reached the Padesto City, causing a sensation throughout the Padesto City. However, the Silver Moon Elf administrators in Padesto City fell silent, and even the Logistics General of the Silver Pegasus Legion remained tight-lipped.
Clearly, they did not want to further anger the Half-Elf living in the city at this time of heightened emotions.
Moreover, news of the murder of the Mine Owner Abel also reached the mines in the Nikoba Mountain Range in the eastern part of the plateau.
This news finally made these Mine Owners understand one thing: although the elven army shouted "Life is paramount, elves have no death penalty", the Mine Owners who committed many evils would actually be executed, only the method of execution was different.
There are eleven mines in the Northern Plateau.
Five mines were discovered in the western district where Commander Helik was stationed. These mines were all captured by Commander Helik and his Rebel Army soldiers through force. Moreover, Commander Helik did not take prisoners; all Mine Owners and their Mine Private Army were to be executed on the mines. This was the case for the first four mines. The resistance from the Mine Owners became increasingly fierce as they moved on.
The Rebel Army warriors paid a heavy price for this, and the suppression process was extremely bloody, unlike anything the elves would do.
When they attacked the fifth mine, the Mine Owners fled upon hearing that the Rebel Army army was pressing in, allowing the exhausted Rebel Army soldiers to rest earlier than planned.
The eastern district where Roy is located has six mines: four iron mines and two Mithril Mine.
Roy didn't have much trouble taking over these mines.
With a large number of headhunters fleeing to the Gazan Ancestral Land, the mines are left isolated and helpless.
Roy acquired the first four iron mines easily thanks to information from the Mine Owner Jerome. Although the process was somewhat tortuous, the fifth mine, the Wochak Mountain Mithril Mine, was not too difficult.
By the time he captured the sixth Mithril Mine, the Mine Owners had already fled.
During this time, Roy also captured more than a thousand young headhunter prisoners of war in the Northern Plateau, and Roy sent these headhunter prisoners of war to work as miners in four Iron Mine.
In November 1407, Roy seized control of the northern part of the Pagisto Plateau, and all the Headhunters Tribe in the Northern Plateau were relocated to the Gazan Ancestral Land.
When the Silver Pegasus Legion first entered the Northern Plateau, they only pursued and killed the Headhunter Resistance Army. They did not put much effort into wiping out the Headhunter tribes in the Northern Plateau. Therefore, even though they had a whole regiment of Silver Pegasus Warrior, it was still very difficult for them to find the Gazan Ancestral Land.
Roy's battle strategy this time was completely different from that of the Silver Pegasus Legion. He directly drove away all the headhunter tribes in the Northern Plateau, forcing them to flee north.
Commander Helik killed a large number of headhunters in North Wind Canyon.
The headhunters were intimidated by the Half-Elf Warrior, so their escape went smoothly.
Moreover, the Half-Elf Warrior in the Rebel Army also discovered that not all headhunters possessed superb hunting skills.
Those headhunters with superb hunting skills have mostly gone to the Southern Plateau.
They went south to hunt Half-Elf, and initially encountered the Cavalry Vanguard Regiment of the Silver Pegasus Legion's cavalry, from which some were killed. Later, they encountered Silver Pegasus Warrior, from whom some were killed as well.
After the Silver Pegasus Legion withdrew from the Pagisto Plateau, the headhunters launched a retaliatory campaign against the Half-Elf in the Southern Plateau. Almost all the adult headhunters left the Northern Plateau. Some of the headhunters died in the Gaxi Mountain Range, while others died in the Kaltim Mountain Range. The last group of headhunters fled with their tribes into the Gazan Ancestral Land. At this time, the headhunters who remained in the Northern Plateau consisted of young people, elderly people, and some women who only knew how to use daggers and traps.
Although these headhunters possessed some combat strength, they were far inferior to those bloodthirsty headhunters. Therefore, the Half-Elf Warrior were able to easily secure victory in every battle.
By this point, Roy's Mine Guard had occupied the entire plateau, except for the northern edge of the Pagisto Plateau and the eastern Nikoba Mountain Range.
Nestled among the mountains on the Northern Plateau lies the birthplace of headhunters— the Gazan Ancestral Land.
This place has never been found by the elves.
Commander Helik wrote to Roy, expressing his desire to visit the Land of the Ancestors of the Headhunters, which, if possible, would serve as a temporary base for the Rebel Army.
Roy naturally had no objections.
Instead of continuing north, the Mine Guard turned back and headed towards the Nikoba Mountain Range in the eastern part of the plateau.
The eastern mountain range has a complex terrain, consisting almost entirely of overlapping mountain ranges. Many headhunter tribes live a hunting life here, making it a tough nut to crack. However, Roy has Griffon Corps, which makes entering the mountains much easier.
