Old Priest
I heard that there is an old Priest living in the Wanderer Camp. He runs a clinic in the camp, specializing in treating injured Demon Hunter and making a living from it. He is very famous in the Wanderer Camp and knows almost all the Demon Hunter Wanderer Camp.
His consultation fees vary entirely from person to person; usually, the more famous the Demon Hunter, the more expensive the consultation fee.
The Dwarf Warrior didn't seek treatment from the old Priest because he felt the Priest's fees were unreasonable. He wanted to use the dwarf race's strong physique to expel the Darkness Qi from his body...
Even if Roy doesn't dare to come and treat him, the Dwarf Warrior will slowly recover after these few days...
Roy lay down next to the tent, and his body quickly regained its mobility.
Because the sacred particles in the Dark Land are extremely scarce, the Holy Light Power in his body recovers very slowly.
Roy first gave the injured Dwarf Warrior in Evele's Demon Hunter team a full examination and found that the Dwarf Warrior was mainly tainted by Darkness Qi, and that the Dwarf Warrior's injury could be healed by casting Purification Art.
The Dwarf Warrior was still clutching a wine glass in his hand while he was being examined.
He very generously invited Roy to have a drink...
Roy smiled and declined the Dwarf Warrior Dwarf Warrior's offer, warning him that it was best not to drink alcohol when he was tainted with dark energy. The Dwarf Warrior hummed and hawed in agreement, but Roy knew very well that the Dwarf Warrior didn't really take his advice seriously.
Although a single Purification Art would solve the Dwarf Warrior's problem, Roy decided to wait a little longer. He wanted the Holy Light Power in his body to recover somewhat before treating the alcoholic Dwarf Warrior.
Roy then suggested to Evele that he wanted to visit the old Priest...
Evele stood outside the camp and pointed out the location of the old Priest's residence to Roy. To be honest, this Wanderer Camp was not very big; everyone had just set up some tents around the campfire.
Evele told Roy that there were many blood-stained gauze bandages hanging outside the old Priest's clinic, and some bottles and jars were also hanging outside the tent.
The tent was very dilapidated, and a lot of miscellaneous items were piled up outside.
Roy stood at the tent entrance, peered inside, and asked in Elven Language:
Is anyone home?
He was a very old elf, devoid of any divine aura, somewhat thin, with cloudy eyes, and wearing a dirty linen robe, showing no trace of a Priest.
He lifted the curtain and looked up at Roy.
The old Priest invited Roy into the tent, which was filthy and smelled of decay and grease. Two beds were placed side by side in the tent, taking up almost all the space inside.
The old Priest pointed to the low stool beside the bed and said to Roy:
"Please sit down,... Priest?"
Roy nodded and explained to the old Priest:
"But I don't believe in the Goddess of Freedom."
"Oh?" The old Priest looked at Roy with obvious surprise and said solemnly, "I thought you were also a young Priest who had fallen behind from the Expeditionary Force. It seems I was wrong. They call me Old Pike. I've been living in this Wanderer Camp for a long time. What do you need me for?"
Roy didn't beat around the bush and went straight to the point. "Have you ever met a High Priest named Reed?"
Old Pike shook his head and said:
"I was a Priest accompanying the first Expeditionary Force. There was no Priest named Reed in my team, and I don't know if there are any High Priest named Reed in other teams..."
When Roy heard Old Pike say that he was a Priest accompanying the first Expeditionary Force, he thought that he probably didn't know High Priest Reed.
High Priest Reed accepted the summons of the Goddess of Freedom Temple in Gorfito and joined the third Temple Expeditionary Force...
Since the other party did not recognize High Priest Reed, Roy prepared to bid farewell to Old Pike.
Just then, the tent flap was lifted from the outside, and a burly human man walked in. He was wearing a set of silver Magic Armor, with a sword hanging at his waist and two sharp axes on his back. His eyes revealed a murderous aura...
"Old Pike, hurry and treat Hans's wounds! He was scratched by a Shadow Demon and poisoned. He looks to be in bad shape!" The burly human rushed into the tent and hurriedly said to the old Priest.
His voice was so loud that it made the whole tent buzz.
The old Priest looked troubled and said very tactfully, "My Priest power has been completely exhausted today. I need to rest. I won't be able to cast Holy Light Art again until noon tomorrow..."
The burly human ignored the old Priest's words. He bent down and shouted at the old Priest, "Old Pike, please help us! Hans might not even live to see tomorrow noon. If you're willing to save my good brother Hans, we're willing to pay double the medical fee!"
"This isn't about paying more money. You know this is the Dark Land, and our Holy Light Power recovers very slowly. What can I do?"
The old Priest looked troubled as he spoke, then his expression changed, and he narrowed his eyes like a cunning fox, tentatively asking:
"Are you really willing to pay double the consultation fee? You should know that as the most famous demon-hunting team in the Wanderer Camp, your consultation fees are already very expensive."
"When have I ever failed to keep my promise to you?" the burly human man assured him, patting his chest.
"Bring him in..." The old Priest waved to the burly human man, then muttered to himself, "Although I have exhausted my Holy Light Power, I have a way to make your companion last until noon tomorrow. Once my Holy Light Power recovers, I can heal his injuries!"
The burly human turned and walked out of the tent, just in time to see Roy standing in the corner.
He stared at Roy suspiciously, his eyes lingering on the Magic Inscription Construct Roy was wearing.
The burly man pursed his lips, staring at Roy and asking, "I've never seen you before... are you new here?"
The old Priest gave Roy a push and urged him, "Kid, hurry up and help carry the injured man in and put him on the bed."
Then he turned to the burly human and said loudly, "He's here to learn medicine from me. You can carry him in and go back to wait. Come back tomorrow afternoon and take your companion away."
He stared at Roy's retreating figure, frowning as he looked at the old Priest.
Currently, the most prestigious person in the Wanderer Camp is this old Priest who can heal the Demon Hunter. Although the burly man was somewhat envious of the Magic Inscription Construct Roy was wearing, he did not want to make enemies with the old Priest, so he could only leave the tent in a huff.
A strong human man carried an injured companion into the tent and carefully placed him on the bed.
It was only then that Roy realized that the two large beds placed side by side in the tent were for treating patients, which explained why the old Priest had just made Roy sit on the low stool.
The victim's abdomen was almost completely ripped open by some sharp weapon, with his intestines nearly spilling out. It's unclear what kind of hemostasis technique the attacker used, but despite the ripped abdomen, the bleeding stopped.
The injured man was still conscious, staring expectantly at Priest old Priest, and asked in a trembling voice:
"Old Pike, do you think I can be saved? Is there any hope for me after being injured like this?"
"Your intestines are all cut off? The other organs are fine, your liver, spleen and kidneys are not damaged. It's just that your internal organs are contaminated with dark demonic energy and need to be cleaned. Don't worry, your good brother has already agreed to pay me double the consultation fee. Even if it's just for that consultation fee, I, Old Pike, will definitely save you. I guarantee that after you recover, you will be able to go out and hunt Dark Creatures again!" The old Priest patted his chest and assured him.
Upon hearing what Old Pike said, the injured man immediately calmed down.
The burly human man stood at the tent entrance, bowing to the old Priest and saying, "Old Pike, I'm entrusting Hans to your care!"
After saying that, he tossed a bag to the old Priest, and then the group of Demon Hunter turned and left...
The old Priest rummaged through the pile of junk outside the tent and found a small spray bottle. He rinsed the bottle casually, poured in some diluted green medicine, and sprayed it onto the injured man's abdomen. The green medicine quickly formed a protective oil film on the man's abdomen.
He poured in a little more medicine, then inserted the glass tube directly into the injured man's mouth, and said to him:
"Go to sleep, get a good night's sleep. When you wake up tomorrow, your injury will probably be almost completely healed. You'll still need to rest for a while afterward."
The injured man gradually closed his eyes as the old Priest continued his nagging.
"They are the most powerful group of Demon Hunter in this exile camp. You must keep your distance from them in the future, or you may be devoured by them and not even a bone fragment will be left..." The old Priest whispered to Roy in a very low voice.
He said a lot, and Roy listened very attentively.
As Roy stood at the tent entrance, bowed to the old Priest, and said sincerely, "Old Pike, thank you."
Even after leaving Old Pike's tent, Roy could still hear the words Old Pike had said:
"This is the exile camp. You can treat it as an area temporarily free of Dark Creatures. You can rest here, or trade with other Demon Hunter, but you must never let your guard down, because the dangers lurking here... are often far more deadly."
No Demon Hunter is good, but that doesn't mean all Demon Hunter here are evil.
'Good and evil are opposites, but they can also coexist. When your strength is recognized by everyone, you will gain the respect you deserve in this camp, and you will feel everyone's kindness. When you are a useless weakling, there will definitely be people who bare their sharp fangs at you.'
' Demon Hunter living in the Dark Land are all fierce and ruthless warriors, so you must always be vigilant...'
