97 Expedition Team
Roy bought a bottle of Green Grass Ointment from the Potion Shop and walked into the living room.
I saw Ms. Belinda sitting in the living room.
She held a Magic Belt in her hand, with a Magic Pattern Cloth sewn onto it.
The cloth bag is about the size of a palm, and it has a clasp on the front so you can quickly reach your hand inside.
Roy knew this was Ms. Belinda's Magic Pouch, which she usually used to store personal items, carving knives, and stones.
"Roy, you're going to the academy's outdoor practical course, it'll be more convenient to bring a Magic Pouch!"
After saying that, Ms. Belinda planned to tie the fanny pack around Roy's waist.
Roy took a half step back, refusing to accept Ms. Belinda's gift. He turned and pointed to the Canvas Messenger Bag hanging on the wall, saying to Ms. Belinda, "I've already prepared the satchel, and I'll also bring the tent and frying pan from home..."
As he spoke, Roy took the satchel off the wall and slung it over his shoulder, then took out the bundled tent bag and slung it over his back as well.
He even hung a frying pan on his lower back, making him look quite like a traveler.
Ms. Belinda squinted at Roy, who was dressed as a traveler, and felt a pang of indescribable sorrow in her heart...
"I'm going to participate in outdoor survival training this time, not a picnic or outing. I'll be carrying a picnic basket with me."
"If I bring Magic Pouch, I can carry more luggage and tools with me, but it will also make outdoor exercise easier. Belinda, I want to experience a different world. Trust me, I can take good care of myself."
As Roy spoke, he put the Green Grass Ointment into his handbag.
As the first rays of sunlight streamed into the room, Roy got up early to pack his luggage.
As he walked out of the yard, Ms. Belinda stood at the gate, quietly watching him walk along Brown Street to the street corner.
Roy carried a shoulder bag, a tent bag and cooking utensils on his back, and an ordinary dagger on his belt.
After waiting for a while at the street corner, a Long Carriage arrived and took Roy to the main gate of the Elf Academy. There were two Long Carriage parked on the main street in front of the academy. None of the carriages had passengers, and the coachmen were all gathered together, talking quietly.
This activity was specially prepared by the Elf Academy for newly enrolled students, allowing them to complete a month-long outdoor experience in the Malaga Jungle.
When Roy arrived at the academy gate, he saw Klayr squeeze out of the crowd. She was wearing exquisite Light Leather Armor, with Long Dagger at her waist and a short dagger strapped to her leg. She carried Battle Shortbow and quiver on her back and Magic Pouch around her waist. Perhaps to adapt to life in the jungle, Klayr had cut her hair short.
"Roy, why are you so late!" Klayr complained as she walked over.
As expected, the academy gate was crowded with new students, and a long line of them had already boarded the Long Carriage.
Once a Long Carriage is full, one of the carriages will depart from the Elf Academy.
"Come with me, I see them..." Roy waved to Klayr and said.
The two had previously agreed to first conduct a three-day investigation at Ellington Castle, then do their geography class assignments, and incidentally complete their martial arts training course on wilderness survival.
Klayr, on the other hand, had very few restrictions on the tasks she needed to complete, giving her considerable freedom.
Roy led Klayr to the members of Sixteenth Group in the crowd. The group of Silver Moon Elf girls were chattering happily around Edith.
Upon seeing Roy and Klayr, Edith greeted them with a sweet smile.
Klayr, seeing Edith, asked with some surprise, "How come it's you?"
Roy was planning to introduce Klayr to them, but after hearing Klayr's words, he whispered to him, "You know them?"
Klayr whispered to Roy, "We're all Silvermoon Elven Nobles from Castleton City, how could we not know each other... we're just not very familiar with each other. They usually have their own small groups, and it's difficult for outsiders to join..."
Edith walked over gracefully, extending her slender hand adorned with a white lace glove, and smiled at the two men, saying, "Roy, Wagner, welcome to the team!"
Roy and Klayr politely shook hands with Edith by the tips of three fingers.
In fact, the trip to Ellington Castle by Sixteenth Group included not only the ten members of the group, but also several Silver Moon Elf students who had joined from outside, both male and female, all of whom were Elven Nobles...
Apart from Roy, everyone else was wearing Light Leather Armor and carrying no luggage. Each elven student carried a Magic Pouch, and each one was more exquisite than the last.
With Roy and Klayr joining in, the expedition team was complete.
Edith, dressed in beige leather armor, walked at the front, followed by an elven girl in the same attire, making them extremely conspicuous even at the academy gate.
Wherever they went, the elf students made way for them.
Klayr and Roy lagged behind the group. Klayr noticed that Roy was carrying a backpack and asked him in a low voice:
"Roy, why don't you bring a Magic Pouch? That thing can hold a lot of things and it's very convenient."
Roy couldn't help but complain, "How much does that thing cost?"
Klayr answered without hesitation, "The most basic Magic Pouch can be bought for about six Magic Crystal Stone."
Roy spread his hands helplessly and said, "Well, if this outdoor practical course had been held three weeks later, maybe I could have afforded it..."
Seeing Roy dressed in a linen outfit, Klayr couldn't help but say, "Roy, you should wear a Light Leather Armor set. Light Leather Armor isn't very expensive."
"I took a break to go to the store and looked around. The only leather armor suitable for me was a set made of hard leather and heavy leather. But I don't think I'll need this kind of Heavy Leather Armor for this outdoor practice class, so I didn't buy it. That stuff is too stiff to wear, and it wouldn't be comfortable to lie down anywhere..." Roy said softly.
Edith found an Long Carriage almost instantly; the castle exploration team consisted of sixteen people.
After everyone boarded the Long Carriage, there were still four empty seats inside.
Edith simply waved her hand impatiently, and the coachman closed the Long Carriage door from the outside. The Long Carriage followed the caravan westward, quickly leaving Castleton City.
"We plan to spend three days this time to conduct an inspection of Ellington Castle..."
Edith stood at the front of the Long Carriage and addressed the members of the expedition team inside.
After the carriage left Castleton City, the main road outside the city was no longer smooth; it was a winding Mountain Road, making the journey very bumpy.
Fortunately, the scenery along the way was quite beautiful, with blue irises growing all along the roadside, and dark blue berries visible in the bushes further away.
The rainy season in Castleton.
The hillside is lush and green, with small, temporary streams everywhere, and some even cascading down from the rocky cliffs by the roadside to form small waterfalls.
After driving out of the mountains, Roy stuck his head out of the car window and saw a vast expanse of highland jungle in front of him.
"Ahead lies the Malaga Jungle. The Long Carriage can only take us to the edge of the jungle. We still have to hike 20 kilometers south to reach Ellington Castle. Fortunately, although it is currently the rainy season, the Mountain Road leading to Ellington Castle is not difficult to walk at all."
Edith would occasionally stand up and describe the surroundings to the expedition members in the carriage.
Roy felt she was very familiar with the Malaga Jungle ahead...
The Long Carriage arrived at the edge of the Malaga Jungle, where a dozen or so Long Carriage were parked by the roadside, almost all of them empty.
Roy's castle expedition team quickly assembled beside the carriage. Edith didn't even look at the map. She took a few steps along the roadside in her tall leather boots, glanced at the distant scenery, and pointed southeast, saying to everyone, "Ellington Castle is over there. We'll go straight there from here. There's a forest path there."
After saying that, she took the lead and walked towards the jungle.
Roy followed at the back of the group, and immediately took out a map to mark the path Edith pointed out.
The vegetation on the edge of the Malaga Jungle is extremely dense; if Edith hadn't been leading the way, this hidden path in the dense forest would probably have been very difficult to discover...
The expedition team consisted of six boys. Roy and Klayr were assigned to the second group. Each group had to be at the front of the team, using knives to cut down weeds and vines blocking the way, and also to scare away poisonous insects and snakes in the bushes.
Roy couldn't recognize the names of many of the plants in the jungle.
However, there happened to be an elfin girl in the expedition team who studied botany, and she would record the plants she encountered along the way.
Many of the trees in the jungle are over twenty meters tall, but only as thick as an adult's thigh. These trees are densely packed together in the jungle, with straight trunks that show almost no branches. Only at the top of the trees are there lush leaves, and Roy can even see clusters of berries.
The forest was overgrown with all sorts of thorny vines, and Roy picked a Mamba Snake from the undergrowth...
The expedition members then became nervous and started to watch their step.
The path was less than two kilometers long, and then everyone found a main road that could be traveled by horse-drawn carriage.
Edith led a group of expedition members, covered in dew and tree sap, out of the jungle. They rested for a while by the roadside before continuing their journey.
The jungle was hot and difficult to walk in, but sitting by the roadside, you could feel a cool breeze.
Several elven girls took out a few Zhu Fruit from their Magic Pouch and shared them with everyone. When they offered them to Roy and Klayr, the two girls refused while watching them eat with envy...
Roy checked the map to confirm that the expedition team had not gone in the wrong direction.
The expedition continued along the main road, and when they passed a stream, Roy and Klayr filled two jugs with water...
