Background / History

The Great Luo Pill Dao maintained an outer-sect lineage at Spring Return Hall in Guihua City. Before his death during the Black Blade Bandits’ attack, Lin Shan transferred his position as the 107th-generation outer-sect steward to his son, Lin Xiao, and entrusted him with the sect’s Pill Token. 5

Its main stronghold was Spring Return Valley, a medicinal valley protected by formations and marked by evergreen vegetation, rare herbs, spiritual beasts, purple mist, and three floating jade peaks. 11 The sect had spent five years in seclusion fulfilling a major pill commission for Origin Sect when Lin Xiao arrived there. 11

As spiritual energy became scarce across the cultivation world, cultivators increasingly depended on spiritual pills to advance before their lifespans expired. This made the Great Luo Pill Dao—then the only sect able to mass-produce various spiritual pills—a pivotal force despite having only slightly over three thousand members, including laborers. 16 18

Following the events in Guihua City, the sect joined righteous forces in driving back the Jimo Sect and Blood Kill Demonic Path; the Black Blade Bandits and Wutian Commander were executed. 17 Its security ultimately failed when Jiang Zizai, a clone of the Blood God Ancestor, infiltrated Spring Return Valley through a massive pill order, poisoned its elders with Essence Dissipating Mist, and demanded the Great Luo Pill Scripture. The elders chose death rather than surrender the scripture. 29

The subsequent demonic assault devastated Spring Return Valley, plundered its resources, and killed its disciples. Lin Xiao escaped, later learning that his sectmates’ souls remained intact and might still be found through reincarnation. 30 31 32
