Background

Wind Dragon was the spirit beast of the Lord Beast King, identified as the Azure Emperor's Sixth Ancestor Incarnation. He retained techniques for raising spirit beasts and knowledge of their transformation, and once lived within the Beast King's Mansion. He later spent millennia separated from that former life. 22 23 39

More than ten years before Lu Chen entered the Azure Emperor's Secret Realm, the Primal Chaos Greatsword fell from the sky and pierced Wind Dragon's head. Rather than immediately devouring him, its berserk aura slowly eroded his consciousness and seized control of his wind power, turning Wind Valley into a hurricane-ravaged danger zone. 23

When Lu Chen reached Wind Valley, Wind Dragon was close to losing himself completely. He chose the loss of freedom as an artifact spirit over having his consciousness erased, allowing Lu Chen to attempt the Spirit Sealing Array. Lu Chen's Azure Emperor Bloodline suppressed the greatsword's berserk aura long enough for Wind Dragon to seize control of the weapon. 22 23

Appearance

Wind Dragon initially appeared as a vast, transparent dragon silhouette formed from wind. After regaining a physical body, he developed flesh, meridians, scales, and a fierce dark-green aura. 21 38

Personality

Wind Dragon values the dignity and survival of spirit beasts. Even while being consumed by the greatsword, he refused to let his mind be erased and accepted becoming an artifact spirit only as a means of preserving himself. 22

He acts as a knowledgeable but blunt mentor to Lu Chen, regularly advising him on cultivation, beasts, weapons, and hidden history. He warns Lu Chen against obsession, urges caution around dangerous opportunities, and remains skeptical of the Face's offers in the Tower of Time. 23 27 46

Wind Dragon calls Lu Chen into Wind Valley and asks him to remove the sword embedded in his head before its influence destroys the Secret Realm. When ordinary removal fails, he agrees to become an artifact spirit, allowing Lu Chen to bind him to the Primal Chaos Greatsword. 22 23

Journey Through the Secret Realm

After becoming Lu Chen's artifact spirit, Wind Dragon leads him toward the Fiery Hell and explains the five elemental regions of the Secret Realm. He advises Lu Chen on projecting Spiritual Energy and on exploiting elemental weaknesses in battle. 23

Heavenly Tribulation
