"Hey, hey, hey, this is Hydrangea, this is Hydrangea. Can you hear me, Lord Hanzo?"
The red gleam in Hanzo's electronic prosthetic eye suddenly flickered rapidly several times, and immediately afterward, the voice of Amegakure's chief scientist rang in his ear.
"I'm here."
"Whew. The communications system is operating normally."
Ten kilometers away from the battlefield, in the rainforest, inside a temporary workspace, Hydrangea wore a headset as she watched the real-time feed transmitted back through the prosthetic eye on the screen and let out a long breath.
This was Hanzo's first real battle after undergoing his modifications. The moment she thought of how many things still needed testing, Hydrangea immediately steadied herself, her hands moving nimbly over the keyboard as she began analyzing combat data.
"Lord Hanzo, the enemies are the complete forms of the Four-Tails and Five-Tails. With Maruta-go alone, I'm afraid it will be very difficult to contend with two Tailed Beasts at the same time."
Within a few seconds, as she looked at the overwhelmingly pessimistic data comparison, Hydrangea could not help knitting her delicate brows.
Maruta-go was a simulated biological machine beast created using Hanzo's former comrade-in-arms, Salamander Maruta, as its model. Its body stored large amounts of Salamander Poison as both energy and biochemical weaponry, making it a tireless war beast.
Unfortunately, it was still in the experimental stage. Many details, such as its exposed venom pipelines and the circuits spread across its body, had not yet been polished before Hanzo forcibly dragged it onto the battlefield.
"Do not underestimate the bonds between Maruta and me."
Expressionless, Hanzo crouched down and stroked Maruta-go's metallic hide. He tried to pull out a confident smile, only to discover that no matter what he did, he could not mobilize the muscles in his face.
"I nearly forgot.
