Background / History

Warring States Period

At age ten, Tobirama was identified as Senju Butsuma’s second son. He was already proficient in Water Release, swordsmanship, and high-speed taijutsu 3. During the clan wars, he fought beside his father against the Uchiha; Uchiha Gin later recalled shielding Madara and Izuna from Butsuma’s charged attack during one such ambush 75 131.

Tobirama developed a deep distrust of the Uchiha Clan, viewing them as deceitful and dangerous. His early encounters with Gin complicated that prejudice: Gin’s willingness to endanger himself for others and his refusal to exploit Uzumaki Mito as a hostage earned Tobirama’s reluctant respect 131.

Konoha’s Founding

He was resurrected through technology attributed to Senju Hi Shin. Upon returning, he resumed involvement in Konoha’s government, declared his intent to correct the village’s course, and reclaimed an advisor’s position 791 792.

A later account identifies Tobirama as Hashirama’s successor following the First Hokage’s death. As Second Hokage, he reclaimed the Uchiha clan territory for the village, removed Uchiha members from core departments, suppressed Uchiha resistance, and assigned the clan responsibility for the Konoha Police Force 964.
