Uchiha Madara’s power ran out, and while he recovered, Jigen overwhelmed the Chuzi Legion and defeated Izuna. With Madara still unconscious and the others down, Black Zetsu decided not to abandon them.

• Uchiha Madara’s Nine-Tailed Card ran dry, so he drank medicine and entered deep meditation while Izuna and the Chuzi Legion confronted Jigen.
• Kyuchuzi, Ichichuzi, and Shichuzi attacked Jigen, but he defeated them in quick succession.
• Jigen turned on Izuna, absorbed Amaterasu, tore apart his Susanoo, and pierced him with Black Rods.

Black Zetsu tried to rescue Uchiha Madara and Uchiha Izuna from Jigen, but Jigen mortally wounded him before Uchiha Madara awakened his Purple Ripple Eyes. The chapter ended with Madara pulling out Black Zetsu’s Black Rods and confronting Jigen in fury.

• Black Zetsu made Wood Clone substitutes for Kyuchuzi and Shichuzi and used the Mayfly Technique to carry them away from the battlefield.
