Update Hiatus Announcement

This novel began updating on October 26, 2020. It had been updated on and off for nearly two years now. Thank you all so much for your companionship and support over these past two years. Thank you for being with me through my glory, and for never leaving my side during my recent, prolonged slump.

However, I regret to inform you all of this decision today: I will most likely be taking a break from updates for a while, anywhere from one to two months. The main reason is that I am now in my third year of graduate school. Aside from being busy with experiments to gather enough data for my midterm and final evaluations, I also need to deal with matters concerning my PhD.

My primary advisor is an elderly professor nearing retirement, and he has no PhD openings this year. So if I want to transfer into a PhD program, I can only send emails far and wide to other professors in this department to see whether anyone has an available PhD slot that my advisor can borrow.

But the situation this year is not very good, and competition for PhD programs is intense. My primary advisor cannot be one hundred percent certain that he can find a PhD slot, so he advised me to seek out more options and make additional preparations. Therefore, I am also planning to contact professors at other universities.

If I am lucky enough to find an available PhD slot at my own university, I will only need to submit an application and undergo the department's assessment before successfully transferring into the PhD program. There should be results within a month at most.

If I am unlucky and there are no available PhD slots at my university, then I can only consider
