Background
Tierra is a transmigrator whose thirty-something-year-old soul inhabits an eleven-year-old body. His scientific education, especially his grounding in mathematics and life sciences, shapes the way he analyzes magic, treats danger as a technical problem, and adapts nonhuman magical systems for human use 6 61 91.
Immediately after transmigrating, he discovers an immense extraterrestrial library containing forbidden works such as the Necronomicon, the Book of Eibon, the R'lyeh Text, and the Profound Lord's Seven Chapters Secret Scripture. The library's Knowledge enchantment lets visitors comprehend text through touch, while its Time enchantment grants limited chances to escape madness caused by dangerous knowledge 1 3.
Contact with the entity behind the Profound Lord's Seven Chapters Secret Scripture grants Tierra the abilities Communicate with the Lord of the Starry Seas and Curse Worms, but costs him one of the library's protections against madness. Merlin's surviving notes warn him not to exhaust those chances or seek the Great Race of Yith before reaching an equivalent dimensional level 3 151.
After leaving the orphanage, Tierra survives through street performances while focusing on practical magic, talismans, potion-making, and alchemy rather than offensive spells. At this point, he does not yet know he is in the world of Harry Potter 4 906.
Appearance
Tierra's appearance varies with the body or incarnation he is using. His early Hogwarts-era appearance is that of a pale, hooded boy, while his post-ascension forms carry visible signs of his artificial anatomy and divinity 97 386 561.
- Pale complexion; his lower face is described as corpse-pale beneath a black hood 97.
- Occasionally displays a snake-like tongue, an unsettling trait that discourages Dark wizards from approaching him 97.
- After godhood ascension, his right eye becomes molten gold and his restored skeletal right arm burns with bright flame 386.
- In a later meeting with Harry, he appears tall and slender in a fitted black suit, square-toed shoes, and neatly combed-back hair, carrying a briefcase 561.
- Can assume or operate through alternate bodies, including the robe-like Parasite and numerous manifested Tierras 252 384.
Personality
Tierra is intensely calculating, resourceful, and survival-oriented. Early exposure to forbidden knowledge and foreknowledge of the timeline leave him detached from the people around him; he initially evaluates others largely by their usefulness, potential benefits, and place within his plans 61 906.
He is a practiced manipulator. He deceives Tom Riddle by presenting himself as a slow, emotionally dependent student, misleads Gilderoy Lockhart through the Inheritor, and builds long-term contingencies around betrayal, death, and resurrection 86 143 342. He is also capable of self-reflection: after recognizing how Dark Magic has eroded his judgment and how he has manipulated Harry, he deliberately restrains his use of Dark Magic 102.
His ambition grows from personal survival and a desire to return home into a vision of reshaping civilization. He seeks to turn the world's “constants” into his variables, but later expresses regret that followers had once obeyed his power rather than his ideas 423 579. He ultimately advocates treating wizards and Muggles alike as human beings and seeks to lead intelligent life beyond Earth 744 746.
Abilities & Skills
Magical Theory and Spellcraft
Tierra studies magic through mathematical models, spiritual structures, and the three dimensions of matter, spirituality, and mind.
- Learns the Levitation Charm from Merlin's notes after repeated attempts 3.
- Constructs spell models for the Flash Spell, Flame Charm, Repair Charm, and Levitation Charm 6.
- Uses layered Spiritual Walls to reinforce magical control, expand magical power, and resist mental contamination 6 149.
- His exceptional spiritual power can make wandless temperature-related magic unstable and prone to running wild 61.
- Applies magical knowledge originally intended for nonhuman races, including Flesh Magic designed for the Fungi from Yuggoth 91.
Occlumency and Deception
Tierra uses Occlumency to conceal his intentions and exploit Tom Riddle's overconfidence.
- Feigns emotional dependence and incompetence to persuade Riddle that he is harmless 61 86.
- Reads Tom Riddle's thoughts while posing as his student 86.
- Identifies that Riddle cannot lie within his own memory world, allowing Tierra to assess the diary's intentions more reliably 122.
- Uses the Inheritor to conceal commands and impersonate Lockhart in communications with Riddle 143.
Flesh Magic and Life Reconstruction
Tierra's Flesh Magic begins as accelerated healing and develops into extreme biological control.
- Accelerates injury recovery through Dittany Potion and large quantities of meat 67.
- Creates and controls simple plant growth and alteration 67.
- Uses Life Reconstruction to create Artificial Life Forms as backup bodies for revival 84 85.
- Forms Curse Worms into a glove-like left-hand appendage to conceal missing finger bones 85.
- After receiving Shub-Niggurath's influence, can divide, recombine, proliferate, and reshape his body at will 170.
- Remains vulnerable to effects that rapidly extinguish life, including Fiendfyre, Spiritual Fire, and the Killing Curse 170.
Dimensional Authorities
Following the evolution of his artifacts and his ascension, Tierra commands several divine authorities.
- Space and Knowledge — The Inheritor permits spatial alteration, star-roaming, and retention of knowledge he can safely comprehend 152.
- Life — The Parasite allows him to alter, restore, and create life when acting through it 152.
- Creation — Used to manifest conceptualized versions of himself and animate Tarot Card constructs 342 397.
- Time — Can observe past events across immense spans, but continues seeking complete mastery of time travel 447 862.
- Chaos — His defining divinity, acquired through the collapse of his original divinity during ascension 447.
Even as a Divine Being, Tierra remains cautious around Great Old Ones and Outer Gods; he considers higher-dimensional entities far beyond the reach of ordinary schemes or stolen power 577.
Alchemy and Artificial Anatomy
Tierra is an accomplished alchemist whose work combines Dark Magic, Flesh Magic, and magical materials.
- Creates Artificial Life Forms, the Inheritor, the Parasite, and the Mad Walker 67 253.
- Refines artificial arms and eyes with Nicolas Flamel's assistance 261.
- Creates the Dementor's Eye from a living Dementor; it can chill its surroundings, inspire fear, and consume souls 261.
- Routes consumed souls into his controlled “Heaven” dimension as alchemical materials or demon-luring sacrifices 261.
- Installs remote-control programs into his magical creations through the authority of Knowledge 330.
Equipment and Magical Creations
- The Inheritor — A Dark Magic item made from Tierra's repeatedly shed skin. Initially a partially completed predatory book, it later evolves into an artifact of Space and Knowledge 67 152.
- Parasite — A body formed from irrational flame worms, taking the appearance of a black monk robe and red shawl. It grants enhanced resistance to Outer God influence and later authority over Life 149 152.
- Mad Walker — A ferocious staff and wand-like magical item formed from the Desecration Array; it later carries the authority of Creation 238 342.
- Curse Worms — Worms gained through contact with an Outer God. Tierra uses them for Flesh Magic and as material for artificial bodies and appendages 85 149.
- Dementor's Eye — An artificial right eye that can consume souls; its cold and fear-inducing effects must ordinarily remain sealed 261.
- Artificial arm — A refined replacement arm; after ascension, Tierra's restored right arm is skeletal and wreathed in flame 261 386.
- Tarot Cards — Several hundred living, Phoenix-flame-based anchors and spiritual backups that can revive alternate Tierras if the Godhood Ascension Ritual fails 342.
Relationships
- Harry Potter — Friend, target of manipulation, and eventual emotional anchor. Tierra repeatedly deceives Harry but later regrets his conduct; Harry mourns him after his apparent death and remains affected by his return 102 381 461.
- Tom Riddle / Voldemort — Ostensible mentor and secret adversary. Tierra exploits Riddle's lessons in Dark Magic, discovers Riddle's plans for him, and ultimately uses the diary in his own ritual 86 93 152.
- Albus Dumbledore — Mentor, ally, and frequent victim of Tierra's schemes. Tierra later feels guilty over deceiving Dumbledore and accepts his counsel to remain at Hogwarts and help oppose Voldemort 236 387 642.
- Nicolas Flamel — Alchemical collaborator and mentor. Flamel gradually trusts Tierra with personal notes and helps refine his artificial anatomy 261 387.
- Dobby — Loyal house-elf assistant who follows Tierra's plans and supports his preparations and contingencies 148 152.
- Raven — Tierra's raven familiar. Raven assists with feeding Curse Worms, grows increasingly independent, and shares a close if unconventional bond with him 85 88 91.
- Gellert Grindelwald / Experiment Zero — A predecessor and guide who explains Tierra's origin as the sole successful embryo among 147,967 experiments and warns him against losing his self-definition 397 399.
- Hathaway Romanov — A controlled associate. Tierra repairs her Spiritual Dimension, installs a control program within it, and gives her a Tarot Society card 423.
- Jeffrey Rogge — Student and ally with Deep One ancestry. Tierra teaches him about his bloodline, the Deep Ones, marine pollution, and diplomatic contact with their civilization 811 812 814 818.
- Sirius Black — Hostile protector of Harry. Sirius considers Tierra an irredeemable Dark Magic threat and seeks to remove him from Harry's side 221.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Forbidden Library and Early Survival
Tierra enters a world he believes to be governed by Cthulhu Mythos and gains access to an alien library of dangerous knowledge. He studies Merlin's notes, develops basic magic, leaves the orphanage, and prioritizes survival magic, alchemy, and preparation over direct confrontation 1 3 4 906.
Hogwarts and Tom Riddle's Diary
At Hogwarts, Tierra uses the diary relationship to study Dark Magic while hiding his true capabilities from Tom Riddle. He creates the Inheritor, learns Flesh Magic, develops Curse Worms, and prepares Artificial Life Forms in case Riddle or the Outer Gods kill him 67 84 86 93.
Rituals, Horcruxes, and Divine Preparation
Tierra severs the diary's ties to Voldemort's other Horcruxes, manipulates Lockhart into serving as a ritual component, and arranges protections for a Yog-Sothoth ceremony. The Inheritor and Parasite consume the results of his plans, granting the authorities that form the basis of his ascension 148 151 152.
Godhood Ascension
Using the Triwizard Tournament's final task, a Time-Turner, three soul-linked Horcruxes, artificial bodies, and ritual materials acquired from the Dreamlands, Tierra arranges for Voldemort's Killing Curse to strike him. His apparent death anchors his name in the minds of others, enabling his return as a Divine Being of Chaos 381 385 537 577.
Post-Ascension Intervention
After returning, Tierra continues studying at Hogwarts, projects alternate versions of himself, explores time travel, and confronts threats tied to the Divine Dimension. He also begins directing broader political, educational, and social projects, including plans for wizard–Muggle integration and a future beyond Earth 426 447 646 746 759.
Deep Ones and Scientific Expeditions
Operating at times under Gilderoy Lockhart's identity, Tierra establishes a research group at the University of Greenwich and prepares diplomatic leverage against the Deep Ones through ocean-pollution issues. He also funds and joins scientific expeditions, using temporal perception to investigate the George Crater and the dark planet Eris 818 862 865.
Great Old One and Multiversal Existence
Tierra eventually becomes a fifth-dimensional Great Old One—a universe unto himself. Following the division of the Tierra worldline into countless parallel universes, he is reborn as their ruler, consumes Outer God spawn, and extends his dominion across innumerable realities 893 903.
Incarnations
Prime Tierra creates numerous lesser Tierras from three-dimensional lifeforms through simplified Godhood Ascension Rituals. These incarnations serve as channels between the Divine Dimension and the material world and can initially share Prime Tierra's powers, knowledge, and personality 899.
- Original/Prime Tierra — The central being from whom other Tierras originate 646 899.
- Professor Tierra — One of the role-defined incarnations encountered at Hogwarts 596 646.
- Investigator Tierra — An incarnation who increasingly loses his original memories and identity while becoming more like Prime Tierra 646.
- Independent Tierras — In a divergent worldline, severed incarnations become separate individuals; many form the Tierra Secret Society, sharing power, knowledge, and vitality through high-dimensional contracts 900.
