He followed Voldemort to the door, then turned to leave.
"Oh, right, Blyreem." Voldemort suddenly spoke.
"What is it, Brendan?" Blyreem turned back.
"Do you know what Dark Magic is?" Voldemort asked casually.
"Dark Magic?" Blyreem replied somewhat confusedly. "I know. Didn't Mr. Tierra teach us about it in class? And Mr. Snape too. They said it's a special form of magic, very powerful and therefore dangerous. It's the kind of magic we absolutely must not touch right now."
"Yes, but that definition doesn't fully encompass the essence of Dark Magic." Voldemort smiled at Blyreem, a dangerous yet cunning gleam flashing in his eyes. "The essence of Dark Magic is power. There will always be people who seek to control power, and whether it is just or evil depends entirely on the person wielding it."
"Yes, yes, Mr. Tierra said that too!" Blyreem hurriedly nodded. "Mr. Tierra warned us of the same thing. He said power itself is neither good nor bad; only the person using it can be."
"Tierra said that?" Voldemort paused in surprise.
"You arrived fairly late. I've been here since the start of the school year," Blyreem explained. "Mr. Tierra gave us a really long speech at the opening ceremony."
"Hahaha, then Mr. Tierra sounds rather clever and quite interesting." Voldemort said with a cold smile. "But you need to understand that Dark Magic is not ordinary magic. It involves many taboos and dangers. If you fail to master it properly, it could bring catastrophic consequences."
