The entire space was permeated by a delicate yet obscure aura, as if even the air had become heavy and resilient.
Everything around them had darkened. There was no moon, no sun—only a faint glow, as though illuminated by firelight that had lingered motionless somewhere since ancient times.
Blyreem looked ahead and saw a tall house enveloping them. Dazzling golden light shone from its lofty windows, carrying an air of mystery and eeriness.
The room was not particularly large, yet it seemed extremely crowded. The place where they stood was piled with all kinds of manuscript pages, bottles and jars, and magical potions.
Yet an open space had been left in the very center of the room. Several white candles stood there, and a ritual magic circle made of black lines had been drawn on the floor. At the center of the circle lay a strand of hair and several drops of dried blood.
