Background / History

The Demon Race and the Demonkin Race are separate peoples despite both often being called “demons.” Demon Race members wield Demonic Qi, while Demonkin wield Demonkin Force; the Demon Race encountered in the Demon Grotto could not leave the Eternal Abyss for unknown reasons 414.

They descend from the Darkness Clan, a primordial race opposed to the Light Clan. Both ancestral clans once produced Cosmic Emperors and many Void Shattering Emperors, but had declined into descendant races by the present era 533.

In the Divine River Starfield, the Demon Race became one of the dominant powers alongside the Angel Race. It ruled Ancient Life Stars inhabited mainly by the Beastman Race and possessed thousands of Gods, several God Kings, an Eternal Divine Artifact, and inherited defensive formations 527 533 554.

The race participated in the eradication of the Divine River Starfield's Human population. Its leaders regarded Humanity as aggressive and ungovernable, while remaining wary of the historical record of Human Saints fighting beyond their realms 527 534.

Chen Fan learns that Demon Race creatures dwelling in the Demon Grotto are fundamentally distinct from Demonkin and are unable to leave the Eternal Abyss 414.

Pursuit of Chen Fan

After Chen Fan and Angel Radiance kill large numbers of Demon Race Saints, the Seventh Heaven Saint Asa confronts them and threatens Chen Fan with the fate of the Humans previously destroyed by the Demon Race 530. Chen Fan later kills Asa and reveals cultivation at the Saint Realm Sixth Heaven 533.

The Demon God-King's council concludes that Chen Fan may be a Human Saint King. Fearing Humanity's history of overwhelming same-realm combat, it orders Demon Race Saint Kings to challenge him while Gods secretly prepare to intervene 534 535.

Chen Fan attacks Demon Nova with God-Slaying Talismans and survives pursuit by thirty to fifty Demon Race deities, escaping into Angel Race territory 535 536.

Divine River Starfield War

The weakening Demon Race becomes the center of a three-way conflict involving the Angel Race and neutral Gods. Thirteen God Kings battle, including the Demon God-King, Mist God King, and Eclipse Moon God King 542.

The Demon God-King later attacks the Divine River Main Star with six allied God Kings, demanding that the Angel Race relinquish the star. He personally wields the Darkness Scepter against the Angel Queen 544.

Annihilation

After the Angel Queen reaches the Void Shattering Emperor Realm, she rallies the Angel Race and eradicates Demon Race forces throughout the Divine River Starfield 554.

Chen Fan identifies a flaw in Demon Ancient Star's eighteen-layer defense. With his guidance, the Angel Queen breaks the formation, kills the Demon God-King, and enables the destruction of the remaining Demon Race forces 555.
