Background

Ye Luo first appeared in Ginkgo Village as Yang Baichuan's Hunter Apprentice. While gathering herbs had led her to invest all 20 of her early attribute points into Perception, that investment also let her see ghosts and recognize that the spirit possessing the Hunter's Wife had merely been driven into hiding by Xiao Jie's low-grade exorcism tool 35.

She initially preferred to operate alone and kept other players at a distance, but agreed to assist Xiao Jie and I Want to Become Immortal with ghost-exorcism work by locating spirits that physical attacks could not harm 38. Her knowledge of hidden errands, attributes, class advancement, and late-game Comprehension suggested extensive experience despite her guardedness 42 64.

Her pursuit of the Night Walker and Impermanent Walker paths was motivated by a desire to revive a deceased close friend. After accumulating Merit through battles against undead bosses, she advanced into an Impermanent Walker and began specializing further in Netherworld-related abilities 229 230 236.

At some point after reaching the higher levels, Ye Luo died. Rather than entering the Nether River normally, her soul was claimed directly by the laws of Yellow Springs and assigned to the Yellow Springs Garrison as a Netherworld Emissary, apparently due to an inherent affinity or fate connected to the Underworld 549.
