"Confused?"

Xia Nan naturally did not ignore the old priest who had struck up a conversation with him.

Although the man sounded somewhat mystical, carrying the particular religious flavor unique to clergy, Xia Nan still sensed the friendliness in his words.

Combined with what he had just learned from the two peasant women about Priest Moen's lofty reputation in Ram Horn Town, as well as his past deeds, it gave him a rather good impression of the hale, white-haired old man before him.

He took two steps forward, nodded in greeting, and introduced himself.

"Hello, I'm Xia Nan, an adventurer passing through."

He did not reveal too much information. He merely gave his name and a vague background identity. Of course, as for the latter, anyone with even a little experience reading people could tell from the way he was dressed.

Unexpectedly, however, Priest Moen really did seem to know him. His cloudy brown eyes moved, his gaze pausing briefly on Xia Nan's armor and sword hilt.

"Mr. Horako's caravan, yes?"

"You know him?" Xia Nan raised his brows slightly, surprised.

"Of course."

That face of the priest's, filled with deep furrows, still wore that friendly, gentle smile as he explained to Xia Nan with great patience.

"A full member of the Golden Wheat Chamber of Commerce is a very rare honored guest for a remote, barren, run-down little town like our Ram Horn Town."

"If we were fortunate enough to reach a partnership with Mr. Horako's caravan, it would be an enormous blessing for the ordinary residents of the town."

Moen's words were sincere and earnest. He did not feel superior because of his status as a priest; instead, very much in line with his character and conduct, he put the townspeople's needs first.

Nor was it flattery.
