Background / History

At six years old, Tang San attends Notting Academy with the ambition of establishing a Tang Sect in Douluo Continent. He possesses Innate Full Soul Power and refuses to acknowledge anyone else as “boss.” Qin He's arrival and acclaim leave Tang San feeling ignored, beginning his grudge against him 4 7.

Tang San challenges Qin He despite their equal stated Level 10 cultivation. His Blue Silver Grass bindings are dispelled with ease, and Qin He's White Tiger Sky Thunder Strike sends him flying; Tang San is only slightly injured. Qin He nevertheless publicly calls him his strongest opponent, concealing the disparity in their strength 8 9.

He later enters Shrek Academy in the belief that it may offer a path to surpass Qin He, though Qin He's name visibly unsettles him. There he meets Dai Mubai, a Level 37 Soul Elder and senior student 78.

Tang San discovers that his father, Tang Hao, is not an ordinary village blacksmith but a powerful figure. The revelation gives him relief that he too possesses a powerful family background 157.

After ten thousand years, Tang San returns as a dual-Godhood God King. He challenges Qin He in the Star Dou Great Forest after Qin He interrupts his attempt to propose to Xiao Wu, but Qin He defeats him with one casual move. Tang San's spilled Source Divine Blood revitalizes the forest 628 629.

Appearance

Tang San is initially depicted as a clean-featured youth in a black robe. In later descriptions, he is portrayed as a burly, muscular man with a strongly masculine presence 7 490.

Personality

Tang San is proud, ambitious, and intensely competitive. He considers himself a man of iron will, resents being overlooked, and is determined to prove himself against Qin He 4 7.

His confidence rests heavily on his transmigrator identity, Tang Sect inheritance, and rapid Soul Power recovery. This can become overconfidence, particularly when he believes his regenerating Blue Silver Grass and hidden weapons guarantee victory 51.

He is also resourceful and manipulative under pressure. During the Titan Giant Ape incident, he attempts to redirect the Soul Beast's hostility toward Qin He by claiming Qin He plans to enslave the Star Dou Great Forest's Soul Beasts 258.

Repeated comparisons with Qin He leave him insecure. He considers destroying his Mysterious Heaven Skill manuals after judging them inferior to Qin He's cultivation method, struggles to seek Qin He's help due to pride, and later feels left behind by Qin He's influence 137 458 497.
