History

Su Mu was a fan of the original novel before transmigrating into its world in soul form. He awoke bound to the Goddess Worship System, which rewards him with Admiration Value when recognized goddesses admire him. Initially reluctant to cultivate and expecting the System to solve his problems for him, he received the Emperor-grade Boundless Chaos Art and began cultivating in earnest after the costs of relying on his puppet became apparent 1 4 30.

He chose Xiao Yue as his first disciple after identifying her as a nearby goddess. Xiao Yue accepted him because he knew about Xiao Yan's lost Dou Qi and his future master, though Su Mu initially had to maintain an imposing façade despite his limited strength 2 3. He supported her growth with medicinal liquid, Qi Gathering Powder, sword instruction, the Green Lotus Sword Canon, and the Green Lotus Sword 39 54 56.

After revealing himself publicly through his puppet, Su Mu gained Xiao Yue's deeper admiration and began acting openly as her master. He later attended the Mittel Auction House, where he met Ya Fei; she became his second disciple and remained in Wutan City to manage her business interests 26 75 108 133.

Su Mu traveled with Xiao Yue to Qingshan Town, encountered Xiao Yi Xian, and eventually accepted her as his third disciple. He used the Myriad Medicine Codex of Poison and Healing to resolve the immediate danger posed by her Calamity Poison Body, allowing her to cultivate through a balance of medicine and poison 143 166 169 170.

He later accepted Qing Lin as a disciple after explaining that her mixed heritage had produced a rare special talent. By this point, Su Mu had formed a growing group of disciples whose rapid progress both supplied him with Admiration Value and pressured him to continue improving himself 208 213 218.

As a master, Su Mu is teasing, strict, and often blunt. He pushes Xiao Yue to train even when she seeks sympathy, but also monitors her progress, supplies resources, teaches her swordsmanship, and plans long-term cultivation paths for her 31 43 137 219. He can be ruthless toward enemies, killing the stall owner who targeted Xiao Yue and crippling Mu She and Mu Li after accepting their surrender and assets 26 160.
