Victoria followed Jane into a room. Jane sat down in a chair but showed no intention of inviting Victoria to sit. As the captain of the guards, Jane held the greatest authority beneath the elders. She had already lived for more than a thousand years and was one of the Volturi family's true powerhouses. Victoria was not qualified to sit in her presence.
"Tell me everything. Do not leave out a single detail," Jane said softly.
Victoria did not dare delay and recounted everything exactly as it had happened. After listening, Jane wrote down several names in her notebook.

"Stay in Volterra for now. Do not go anywhere," Jane said.
"Do you not need me to lead you there?" Victoria asked. She desperately wanted to go along and witness those people's fate with her own eyes.
Jane's blood-red eyes fixed on Victoria. Victoria was startled by the gaze, and her heart trembled for no apparent reason. It was pressure that came from the soul itself. She immediately lowered her head. "I understand. I will follow your instructions and remain in Volterra."

"Yes." Victoria took two steps back, turned, and left the room.
A private business jet flew directly from Florence to Seattle. Three people disembarked—two men and one woman—and countless passengers looked their way as they passed through the airport terminal.
