The guard led Jiang Hao into the prison. Looking at the familiar surroundings, Jiang Hao thought, This seems to be the third time I've gone to prison.

The room was huge, about the size of a small factory floor. There were well over a hundred people in prison uniforms inside. This kind of large cell block was common in the United States. Minor offenders were generally held in these large dormitory-style cells, while double or single cells were reserved for the most serious criminals.
The middle of the room was packed with bunk beds. Some people lay alone, while others stood together chatting. There were all kinds of skin colors—black, white, and yellow. After the guard shoved Jiang Hao into the room and left, two black men exchanged a look.
