The Blood of the Beasts crew held its official launch ceremony at Hengdian World Studios. Quite a few people had been invited to show their support, including Tencent Pictures' CEO, directors Zhou Hao and Kong Sheng, top domestic actor Chen Kun, and others. They had all come for Jiang Hao's sake.
Several actresses made their appearances, each more eye-catching than the last. The biggest name among them was Gu Liya, followed by Zhang Tianai. As for Song Xi and Savannah, they had no reputation at all.
A worship ceremony was indispensable. Jiang Hao had personally calculated the auspicious hour and set up an incense table, with a censer in the middle and offerings of roast suckling pig and fresh fruit on either side. As for whom they worshipped, every crew had its own practice. Some worshipped Guan Gong, while others worshipped Wong Tai Sin. These rituals had mainly spread from Hong Kong, where Guan Gong and Wong Tai Sin were especially revered.
Jiang Hao, however, did not set out any deity statues. He was a Taoist himself, so if he was going to worship anyone, it had to be his patriarchs. There was no need to invite statues. He personally wrote a Memorial Address and burned it directly for the Three Pure Ones, Emperor Qin Guan, and the Celestial Master God. Forming hand seals, he muttered prayers for his crew's smooth and successful production.
After that, the rest of the crew offered incense, and things were lively for quite a while.
Once the worship ceremony ended, the reporters swarmed over. Many microphones were aimed at Gu Liya, since she was the biggest star in the production. Even so, Gu Liya could only be considered a second-tier celebrity.
