Becoming an American Police Officer
Jiang Hao was being held in a room at the military camp. He had showered, changed into a new set of camouflage fatigues, and lay on a narrow iron bed with his eyes open, staring at the ceiling. A fly buzzed circles around the lightbulb while a gecko clung motionlessly nearby, waiting for the right moment to catch its prey.
After circling who knew how many times, the fly finally landed. The instant it did, the gecko struck, shooting out its long tongue with a snap. It stuck to the fly before the insect could even react and dragged it into the gecko's mouth.
The gecko smacked its lips and swallowed the fly.
Interesting, wasn't it?
If you were locked in a room with nothing but a bed for several days, you would probably find the leisure to enjoy watching a gecko catch flies too.

Just then, the iron door opened. An officer walked in—it was the major who had gone into the jungle to retrieve Jiang Hao. Jiang Hao now knew his name was Rory.
Rory looked at Jiang Hao and said, "Buddy, come with me. The investigation committee is here. They have some questions for you."
Jiang Hao sat up, stretched, and said, "How lucky. Someone finally remembered me. Otherwise, I would have thought I was serving time in Federal Prison."
Rory led Jiang Hao to a room where three middle-aged men were seated. One wore a colonel's uniform, while the other two were in plain clothes. Jiang Hao walked in and saluted.
The colonel said to Jiang Hao, "Sergeant Jiang Hao, sit over there. We have some questions for you."
Jiang Hao walked over and took the seat in the middle.
