Jiang Hao returned to the Los Angeles Police Department and submitted his resignation to the Sheriff. Although the FBI, state police, and city police all belonged to the law enforcement system, there was no subordinate relationship between them. It wasn't a matter of transferring from one department to another; even their paychecks came from different places. So Jiang Hao had to resign from the police department and join the FBI anew.
He said goodbye to his other colleagues, especially his partner Jerry. Jerry was quite reluctant to see him leave. "Even though we've only been partners for a week or two, I really like you, Jon. You're the most upright, noble, and pure person I've ever met."

Jiang Hao returned home—well, Alice's home. Alice had already come back from work. In the garage, Jiang Hao found a new car: a brand-new gray Aston Martin. Its streamlined body was incredibly handsome, and it looked more mature and steady.
He went straight up from the garage and found Alice sorting clothes in the room. The moment she saw him, she rushed over. "Jon, did you see the new car in the garage?"
"I did. It's beautiful. Did you buy it?"
Alice smiled brightly. "I bought it for you. I remember you said yesterday that the Ferrari's red was too flashy and wasn't suitable for driving often. I thought so too. You also said you liked gray, so I bought you that gray Aston Martin. Do you like it?"
Jiang Hao looked at her, pinched her lips, and kissed her. "I was just saying. You put too much thought into this. There really was
