A Hero Show
"Jon!"
Pullman saw Jiang Hao, his face filled with surprise. "Oh my God, how did you survive? So many witnesses saw you fight the Predators, then there was an explosion. How could you possibly still be alive?!"
A towel was wrapped around Jiang Hao's waist, revealing his lean, muscular body. Somewhat embarrassed, he said, "Can I put on some clothes first?"
"Of course, of course."
After Jiang Hao had changed and come out, Pullman said, "The president wants to see you."
"The president? Reagan?"
"Yes. Let's talk as we walk. A helicopter has been arranged on the roof. We're heading to Washington now," Pullman said.
The two arrived on the roof, where a helicopter was already waiting. After boarding, Pullman picked up a newspaper from beside him and handed it to Jiang Hao. "Take a look for yourself. You're a national hero now."
Jiang Hao was surprised. He took the newspaper and quickly scanned it. Before long, he discovered that the president had publicly revealed the existence of the alien Predators. It gave him a shock. He truly had not expected the government to do that.
Then he realized that he had apparently been declared a "martyr" and hailed as the hero who had eliminated the Predators.
Pullman said, "The explosion destroyed all of Wall Street. The American economy and the global economy have both suffered a severe blow. This couldn't be covered up, so in the end, it was decided to reveal the existence of the Predators. But to boost public confidence, the United States needs a hero."
