"I'm your personal psychological counselor. Can I come over and talk with you?" Harlene said to Jiang Hao with a gentle smile.
"Of course." Jiang Hao nodded.
"I hope you can relax a little. We can talk in a relaxed and pleasant environment," Harlene said.
Jiang Hao raised an eyebrow and shifted in his straitjacket. The chains around his feet clattered. "Mm, this certainly is a relaxing environment."
A trace of embarrassment flashed across Harlene's face. She forced out a smile. "You know, they're afraid you might hurt others. Of course, that includes hurting yourself."
"If they're afraid of getting hurt, then why did you come? And why did you choose me?"
Jiang Hao leaned slightly forward, adding a touch of pressure as he stared straight into the eyes behind the woman's black-rimmed glasses.
Harlene blinked. Why had she come to a place as chaotic and dangerous as Arkham Asylum? Her purpose had been to challenge herself.
Since childhood, she had excelled both academically and morally. During her teenage years, she had trained in gymnastics for a long time and won the Gotham University gymnastics championship. Rings, vault, balance beam, and floor exercises were all her strengths. She could perform difficult backflips, splits, and other moves.
After entering university, she chose psychology as her major and continued to excel in both academics and conduct.
To others, she had always seemed like an exceptionally outstanding person. But no one knew that all of it had been accomplished under her parents' strict control. They had high expectations for her and hoped she could become part of high society, so they had always worked hard to cultivate her.
After studying psychology, she increasingly felt that her future life seemed devoid of passion: study hard, work hard, treat people kindly, become the excellent female
