The moment he stepped into the prison yard, the gate behind him slammed shut. A group of armed guards rushed out and surrounded the Joker. "Hands up. Any resistance and we'll shoot immediately."
Jiang Hao showed no fear or concern as he slowly raised his hands.
Someone immediately stepped forward, grabbed Jiang Hao's arms, and cuffed him. A group of officers escorted him into the prison block and brought him to a heavily secured office, where Jiang Hao met Commissioner Gordon and the warden of Blackgate Prison.
"Joker, I never thought you'd turn yourself in for your girlfriend," Gordon said.
"Do you really think I turned myself in?" Jiang Hao asked with a smile.
Gordon knew it wouldn't be that simple. In a low voice, he asked, "A lot of black briefcases have been found in Gotham City. Was that your doing?!"
Jiang Hao nodded, a strange smile curling across his lips. "That's right. I designed a little game called 'Treasure Hunt.' I left some toys in busy parts of Gotham City. I wonder how many you've found."
The bombs really had been planted by the Joker. Gordon's expression darkened. It seemed the Joker had come prepared this time.
"How many did you plant?"
"Not many. Just fifty," the Joker said lightly.
Commissioner Gordon cursed furiously inside. Fifty, and he called that not many? The bomb squad had already dismantled two and tested their explosive power. The explosives inside were enough to destroy a house. If one went off in a crowded downtown area, no one knew how many people would die.
"Actually, the ones in those black briefcases are just little gold coins. At the end, though, I placed a super giant diamond. If someone finds it, hehe, they'll definitely strike it rich." Jiang Hao chuckled.
