Chapter 3: Super Rich, Super Arrogant Guy
Jiang Hao watched the traffic and streets on both sides, trying to think of a solution.
Suddenly, he saw the taxi driver in front of him and had an idea. Who knew a city better than a taxi driver?
"Driver, I want to ask about a place. Do you happen to know it?" Jiang Hao asked the taxi driver.
"Go ahead."
The taxi driver answered without turning around.
"Well, there's a small park with some children's play equipment. Inside, there's a roast chicken stall—the kind that roasts chicken in an oven. My friend said the roast chicken there is especially delicious. Do you know where it is?" Jiang Hao described every detail he could think of.
The taxi driver thought for a moment, then shook his head. "Doesn't ring a bell."
Jiang Hao was somewhat disappointed.
Then the taxi driver said, "I'll ask over the radio for you." He picked up the taxi radio and called out, "Helpers, does anyone know a place? A small park with a roast chicken stall inside, the kind of chicken roasted in an oven?"
The driver repeated the details Jiang Hao had given him.
The radio immediately became lively. "What, Old Wong wants chicken?"
"Why eat roast chicken? If you're having chicken, have saliva chicken instead! Hahaha!"
All kinds of teasing came over the radio, making even Jiang Hao chuckle.
Old Wong held up the microphone and cursed, "You bastards, I'm asking for a passenger! A passenger I picked up wants to eat the roast chicken there."
Though it was amusing to listen to, there was no information Jiang Hao needed, which left him disappointed. It seemed he would have to investigate properly. Just then, a voice came over the radio. "I know the roast chicken stall Old Wong is talking about. It should be in the small park at the Chunshan Road intersection. There are indeed some children's play facilities inside. I've had the oven-roasted chicken—it tastes really good."
Hearing those words, Jiang Hao was delighted. He said to the driver, "Driver, take me to Chunshan Road."
"Now?"
"Yes, now."
"Sure."
At the next intersection, the driver turned right. After another twenty minutes or so, the taxi stopped at the entrance to a small park. The moment Jiang Hao saw the scene, a sense of familiarity rose in him.
That was right. This should be the small park from the movie.
After paying the fare and thanking the driver, Jiang Hao entered the small park. It was quite lively. Many parents had brought their children to play on the simple playground equipment. The children were having a wonderful time, their laughter and shouts ringing out now and then.
After walking a few steps farther in, Jiang Hao finally spotted the roast chicken stall. Several round tables had been set up, and the plump owner stood there while a table of customers ate with great relish. It's you. No mistake.
"Boss, how much is one roast chicken?" Jiang Hao asked Fat Boss.
"Twenty each."
"Then give me two." Jiang Hao sat down at a table as he spoke.
"What flavor?"
"One original, and one with cumin and chili."
"Sure. I've got two roast chickens ready. They'll be right up." Fat Boss quickly brought Jiang Hao two roast chickens on a tray.
Jiang Hao had carefully studied the system instructions and knew how to collect things. Seeing that no one nearby was paying attention to him, he placed his hand on one roast chicken and silently said, Collect. Ten seconds later, the roast chicken vanished with a whoosh.
He opened the system panel and saw that a sliver of green had appeared on the gray-white progress bar in the mission section. The words beside it read, "1% complete."
That's right, it was him! Haha!
Jiang Hao was delighted. He picked up the remaining roast chicken and took big bites. It really was delicious.
He shouted loudly at Fat Boss, "Boss, your roast chicken is amazing! I want a hundred chickens today. Fifty original, and fifty with cumin and chili."
After hearing that, Fat Boss wiped his hands and walked over. "Are you planning to take them away?"
"Yeah, I'm taking them back for my friends to try." Qin Guan said.
"But I didn't bring that many chickens tonight. I usually can't sell that many." Fat Boss spread his hands.
"You can go get more. I'm not in a hurry." Jiang Hao looked like he would not rest until he got his roast chickens.
"You really want a hundred?"
"I'll pay you now." Nothing worked better than money. Jiang Hao took out his wallet, pulled out two thousand yuan, and shoved it directly into Fat Boss's hands.
Spending money like this felt great. It was not his money anyway—it belonged to the office worker whose identity he had taken. Heh, spending someone else's money felt even better.
Fat Boss accepted the money and realized Jiang Hao was not joking. His smile widened as he said, "All right, I'll have someone deliver more chickens right away. Tonight, I'll roast only for you."
Jiang Hao was still working on the chicken in his hand when a crisp female voice rang out from the park entrance. "Come on, this is the place I told you about! The roast chicken here is so—delicious."
Hearing that voice, Jiang Hao instinctively looked up and froze.
It was actually the female lead of this movie, Shanshan the Mermaid. He subconsciously looked at the girl's feet and found that, just as in the movie, she walked with a shuffling, scraping gait.
Jiang Hao looked around again and actually saw Deng Shuai. Oh, here he was called Liu Xuan—a super rich, super arrogant guy.
Several bodyguards in black followed behind him.
Liu Xuan looked around at the surroundings with some disdain, then glanced at the roast chicken stall and said to Shanshan, "This is the place you meant? Is it really as delicious as you said?"
"Of course! You'll know once you try it. It's insanely delicious!" Shanshan the Mermaid called out to Fat Boss after speaking. "Boss, two roast chickens."
Fat Boss looked at Shanshan and said apologetically, "Sorry, but all the roast chickens today have been booked by that customer." As he spoke, Fat Boss pointed at Jiang Hao, who was sitting there with a chicken wing in one hand.
Liu Xuan and Shanshan both looked toward Jiang Hao. Shanshan was greatly disappointed and said to Liu Xuan, "Looks like we won't get to eat any today."
Her mood fell.
"You really want to eat it?" Liu Xuan asked Shanshan.
Shanshan nodded. "Mm, I do."
"Don't other places have it?" Liu Xuan asked.
"It's not this authentic anywhere else." Shanshan pouted.
Liu Xuan raised his chin and arched a brow. "Watch me."
He walked over to Jiang Hao, held out his hand, and the bodyguard beside him immediately understood, handing him a stack of cash. Liu Xuan slapped the money down on Jiang Hao's table and said, "Ten thousand yuan for two roast chickens."
The moment he casually threw down that stack of money, it drew countless gazes from the people around them.
Some people saw Liu Xuan offering Jiang Hao ten thousand yuan for two chickens, their eyes filled with envy. This guy was unbelievably lucky today—he had run into a rich fool. What a windfall.
