Jiang Hao went to the library, found the librarian, and used his status as a teacher to borrow several rare Ancient Greek language books.
Ancient Greece was one of the main sources of Western civilization. Ancient Greek civilization had lasted around 650 years, and recorded Western literature, science, technology, and art had all begun with ancient Greece.
The ancient Greeks had attained profound accomplishments in philosophy, poetry, architecture, science, literature, drama, mythology, and many other fields. After Ancient Greece fell, this civilizational legacy was carried on by the ancient Romans, becoming the spiritual wellspring of all Western civilization.
For a historian or archaeologist, Ancient Greek and Ancient Egyptian language were among the languages most necessary to master. In China, one naturally needed to understand pre-Qin writing as well. However, Jiang Hao had once traveled back to ancient times and passed the Juren examination, so he was quite skilled with ancient Chinese characters. Now, he was strengthening his knowledge in these two areas.
Perhaps this knowledge was of no use now, perhaps it would never be useful in the future, but what if it was needed? The difference between knowing and not knowing might be a matter of life and death. Since he had the time now, he might as well read more and learn more.
Reading,
Studying,
Teaching,
Jiang Hao lived a full yet leisurely life while constantly adding to his knowledge.
Knowledge was always the most precious thing.
And so,
More than a month passed in the blink of an eye. During breakfast, Steven said, "Mr. Jon, Charlotte Auction House is holding an auction today at ten in the morning. Will you be attending?"
"An auction today? Have a suit prepared for me later," Jiang Hao said as he put a piece of bacon into his mouth.
"Yes, sir."
