Ji Bu blinked at Jiang Hao, then looked at the thick wooden stick in his hand. Slowly, he put it in his mouth and bit down. Jiang Hao took a pair of pliers from his sleeve. They had been made at a blacksmith's shop, and Jiang Hao had stocked plenty of odd things in his storage space.

Clamping the arrowhead between the jaws, Jiang Hao braced Ji Bu's shoulder with one hand. "Bear with it."

Ji Bu nodded and gave a muffled grunt through his nose. But before the sound had even faded, a sharp pain shot through him. Ji Bu bit down hard on the wooden stick and let out an even louder groan.

Jiang Hao acted decisively, yanking the arrowhead straight out of the bone. Its barbs tore out a large chunk of flesh, and blood spurted from Ji Bu's shoulder. Jiang Hao swiftly dodged aside to avoid getting blood on his clothes. Lu Zhi had only just made this new robe for him.

Blood poured out in a rush. Ji Bu felt that his already limited supply of blood was probably about to run dry.

Looking at Jiang Hao, who had dodged off to the side, Ji Bu felt utterly miserable. This newly acknowledged master was clearly unreliable. Was he going to be tortured to death by him? This time, he was probably beyond saving.

But then, Ji Bu saw something that shocked him.

A silk talisman suddenly appeared in Jiang Hao's hand. With a flick, it burst into flames. Jiang Hao reached into the fire, seized a streak of spiritual light in his palm, and slammed it fiercely onto Ji Bu's shoulder.

The next second, Ji Bu discovered that the wound that had been spurting blood stopped bleeding instantly. Then he saw the wound slowly healing.
