Total chaos!
The prisoners charged out like madmen.
Like a swarm of crazed locusts, they fled in panic yet with a clear goal: get out, escape this prison. Some rushed toward the passage leading outside, while others headed for the guards' living quarters.
The guards had already reacted, raising their guns to block the way ahead.
"Stop! Everyone stop immediately!"
But such warnings had no effect at all on the crazed crowd. When everyone's minds had descended into madness, there was no thought left.
"Kill these guards! Charge!" the prisoners howled as they rushed forward.
"Open fire!"
The Captain of the Guards gave the order.
Rat-a-tat-tat!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The guards opened fire, and gunshots rang out in a continuous barrage. The prisoners at the front were hit and fell in droves.
But countless others surged forward behind them. Even if those in front did not want to charge, they had no choice; the crowd would push them onward.
No one knew how many had died before someone finally broke into the guards' defensive perimeter. The prisoners began beating the guards and seizing their guns. Several people would grab hold of one guard, and once someone snatched a gun from a guard's hand, they immediately fired it at the guard.

The gunfire did not stop.
People kept getting shot and falling, guards and prisoners alike. Blood sprayed everywhere. Every block in the prison was now the same—riotous and bloody.
Johnson and Jiang Hao ran out of the cell block with guns in hand. Corpses of prisoners in orange uniforms lay all over the road. The guards stood ahead with shields and rifles, while the unarmed prisoners suffered terrible casualties.
