The door to the data center office area was pounded heavily. Noisy voices came from outside; quite a few people had apparently arrived. Robinson, the building's head of security, shouted for the door to be opened.
Bang! Bang!
Bang bang bang bang!
Jiang Hao walked to the door, thought for a moment, and said, "Supervisor Robinson, I'm Martin, Martin Marx. According to data center regulations, if you want to enter the data center, you need authorization from my superior. You need to find Data Center Director Horst Brand or Deputy Director Steve."
The door was struck twice more. Robinson said irritably, "There's an emergency alarm. I have the authority to enter and inspect the premises. Open the door immediately."
"No. I only follow the orders of the data center supervisors," Jiang Hao said stubbornly.
Outside, Robinson gritted his teeth in fury. He said to the dozen or so building security guards behind him, "This Martin is highly suspicious. Once we get inside, restrain him immediately. Also, notify Data Center Director Horst or Deputy Director Steve and have them come open the door now."
Jiang Hao smiled faintly. That exchange had probably delayed them by more than a minute. He turned and returned to the equipment room door. After opening it, he used a large sledgehammer to smash open the combination lock. Amid a burst of electrical sparks, Jiang Hao pulled several wires out from inside.
Xiao Xin was cracking the supercomputer, while the data center's access control system was a separate system managed by the building security center. Jiang Hao had not touched it before because he feared triggering an alarm. Now that he had been discovered, he had nothing left to worry about.
He took out a phone and connected it with two data cables. The screen lit up.
