Zamasu's Shattered Dream

The Supreme Kai Realm shook violently. Endless energy battered Black Goku's body, until only crystalline light filled the void. The scene fell deathly silent, as though even time had briefly frozen. Only after the chaotic tide of energy completely subsided did color return to their vision.

Looking out now, they saw broad, arcing shock trails across the Supreme Kai Realm, but Black Goku was nowhere to be seen. In the earlier violent clash of energy, Black Goku had been utterly reduced to ashes.

As they looked at the scorched earth trailing wisps of smoke, Son Goku, Vegeta, and the others remained wary, scanning their surroundings without daring to overlook a single spot.

Only after confirming that Black Goku had truly been completely eliminated did smiles appear on their faces.

"We finally got rid of him." Son Goku let out a long breath, and the energy of Super Saiyan Blue receded. Maintaining the Super Saiyan Blue form placed an immense burden on the body. Even at Super Saiyan Blue Full Power, it could not be sustained at all times.

Vegeta nodded and checked again, determining that Black Goku was truly dead.

Watching Black Goku die at the hands of Son Goku and the others, Black-clad Zamasu's stunned expression returned to normal, and he could not help roaring furiously, "You... blasphemers of the gods... actually... killed a god!" A great god had been killed by mortals. What sorrow! Grief welled up within Zamasu. This was the mistake the gods had made, yet he had no power to reverse it.

"Do you even count as a god? Are you qualified to speak for all gods?"

Chaya's cold voice pierced Zamasu's heart. Indeed, before a God of Destruction, what right did a mere Supreme Kai apprentice like him have to represent the gods?
