In the courtyard, the tip of a quill scratched across slightly rough paper, leaving behind lines of elegantly written ancient Celtic.
"What are you writing? Let me see."
At some point, Samael had circled behind Morgan. He curiously poked his head over and glanced through the contents.
"A proposal for the next Round Table Conference..."
The Witch stopped writing, straightened up, and unreservedly showed the document to her husband.

Samael skimmed through it at a glance. After his initial surprise, he could only smile bitterly.
"Don't you think there's already enough mud being thrown at you? If you submit this, those noble lords will tear you apart, and ordinary Celts will probably see these foreign immigrants as outsiders coming to seize their land and food."
The Celtic cultural system and the Druidic Order had always been somewhat rigid and exclusionary.

Morgan froze for a moment. After a brief silence, she sneered, crumpled the nearly completed proposal into a ball, and irritably tossed it onto the ground.
"You're right. A proposal destined to fail is nothing but waste paper."
"You worked so hard on it. Why throw it away?"
Samael hurriedly caught it. After considering it for a moment, he offered a kind reminder.
"If you're trying to replenish Britain's young and able-bodied population after years of war, I'd suggest reducing taxes and encouraging childbirth. It may not be entirely right, but it won't be terribly wrong either. Immigration would be better as a later supplement."
"Recovery and growth? I'm afraid this island won't leave us much time..."
Morgan
