This space was very special. The free-floating energy it absorbed did not seem to be the energy used in battle, but something more like Life Energy. As the name implied, Life Energy was a form of vital energy. It was highly unusual: although it existed freely throughout the Universe, people could neither use nor absorb it. It could only be produced in specific places, such as the Realm of the God of Destruction, the Supreme Kai Realm, and the depths of Otherworld Yellow Springs...
Now, this energy was being drawn into the space. Though the amount was small, Krillin could clearly feel the Life Energy within growing more abundant... Bit by bit, it would eventually fill the entire space.
The Senzu Bean Plantation was not large, only two square meters. It seemed Earth's Shenron was still somewhat lacking. It definitely needed to be improved, but that could wait until later.
Two square meters was neither particularly large nor particularly small. It was enough for him to cultivate four Senzu Bean plants. Senzu Beans were perennial plants, like apple trees that bore fruit every year. Korin had only one plant, yet its annual yield exceeded a hundred beans. His own yearly production should reach around five hundred. Still, he needed to ask Korin carefully about exactly how to cultivate them.
"Xiaolin, let's go. It's time to eat," Goku called to Krillin.
"Coming!" Krillin replied.
Since Chi-Chi was pregnant, it was naturally inconvenient for her to cook. The role of head chef was therefore handed to Krillin.
"Mmm, Xiaolin, your cooking smells so good. Mmm." Goku shoveled food into his mouth, his words muffled.
"Haha, then I'll teach you!"
Krillin bid Goku and Chi-Chi farewell. "Goku, I'm leaving! Remember to do the housework properly!" Krillin shouted as he flew away, waving at Goku.
Before leaving, Krillin gave Goku another round of instruction—one thousand words omitted... The paper was titled: "On How to Be a Good Husband."
Watching Krillin's distant figure, Goku muttered, "Xiaolin is really so naggy. Is this why Xiaolin became so strong?" Goku seemed to have discovered a new continent, and his eyes lit up...
Krillin flew toward Korin Tower. Thinking about how he had just lectured Goku, he could not help shaking his head with a wry smile. Goku was already married, while he himself had no idea how many more years he would remain single... He really was an outsider when it came to such matters.
Now that he had a Senzu Bean Plantation, he needed to ask Korin about cultivation methods. With that thought, Krillin accelerated toward Korin Tower.
At Krillin's current flying speed, he could travel north across the sea at dawn and reach the southern mountains by dusk.
He arrived at Korin Tower in the time it took to drink a cup of tea. A large white cat was constantly dodging while a young man relentlessly attacked, trying to snatch the bottle of Super Holy Water from Korin's staff. However, Korin moved incredibly quickly, and the youth was always one step short. This youth was Krillin's eldest disciple, Fanyu.
Krillin watched attentively from the side. Fanyu's skill was nearly there; within ten moves, he would surely seize the Super Holy Water. Krillin quietly called out, "Move right, advance three steps."
Hearing the voice, Fanyu did not hesitate. He immediately turned directly to his right and stepped forward three paces. Sure enough, Korin's next move was to dodge in that direction, and he ran straight into Fanyu's arms.
"Haha, got you!" Fanyu shouted happily.
Korin broke out in a cold sweat. "Kids these days are getting stronger and stronger. At this rate, how am I supposed to preserve an immortal's dignity?" Korin grumbled, though he still smiled as he wiped away his sweat.
After laughing, Fanyu ran toward Krillin and dropped to his knees with a thump. "Greetings, Master. What brings you here?"
Krillin looked at Fanyu and nodded with a smile. His Battle Power had already reached 85. It seemed he had truly worked hard in his training, and Krillin felt rather gratified.
"Not bad. You've made considerable progress. Keep working hard," Krillin encouraged him.
Fanyu was even happier after hearing Krillin's praise. His face flushed with excitement; the person he admired most was his master.
"Master came to ask Korin about something." Krillin then turned to Korin. "Hello, Korin. You seem to have been doing quite well lately."
Korin smiled. With fresh fish to eat every day lately, it would be strange if he were not in good condition. After all, eating fish was the happiest thing in the world...
That was true. What was happiness? Happiness was a cat eating fish, a dog eating meat, and Ultraman beating little monsters.
Krillin felt so much pressure. Maybe he would only be happy after marrying Android 18, Krillin could not help thinking.
"Korin, how are Senzu Beans cultivated? I want to grow some myself. I've been fighting a little too much lately, and I'm running out of Senzu Beans."
"You used them all up so quickly?" Korin could hardly believe it. "There were three thousand of them."
Krillin chuckled but said nothing.
"I'm afraid that won't work. Senzu Beans need a special environment to grow. They simply cannot survive in ordinary places," Korin said regretfully.
"I know. That's why I asked Shenron to create a suitable space for them to grow. Now you only need to tell me how to plant them."
"So you were the one who summoned Shenron yesterday." Korin was somewhat surprised, but he soon understood. After all, how many people on Earth could gather all seven Dragon Balls?
"Then this will be easy." Korin walked deeper into Korin Tower, motioning for Krillin to follow. As they walked, he said, "Senzu Beans were discovered by Earth's first Kami by chance. That place was filled with the aura of the gods. After Kami transplanted the Senzu Beans, he discovered that they struggled to survive anywhere else. Only at Korin Tower did they grow well. Kami guessed that the mysterious aura here might be denser, so the Senzu Beans remained at Korin Tower until now."
That aura must be Life Energy, Krillin secretly guessed.
"Alright! We're here."
Krillin saw a huge vat. Vine-like Senzu Bean plants grew inside it, lush and vibrant, brimming with the aura of life. There was something strange about this vat, Krillin thought as he examined it.
"This vat is said to connect to the Realm of Kami. I don't know exactly how it works; the matter is simply too ancient. It is because of this vat that the Senzu Beans can grow," Korin explained, seemingly talking to himself.
"Xiaolin, how many plants do you want? To cultivate Senzu Beans, you need to take root cuttings from the base of the Senzu Bean Original Plant to grow new plants," Korin explained.
"Four plants. Four is already the limit of my space. Any more, and there won't be enough Life Energy, slowing their growth. Four is the optimal planting density."
"By the way, Korin, how long does it take for them to mature and begin producing Senzu Beans?"
"It takes six months for the plants to mature. They will only begin producing Senzu Beans after six months," Korin said after thinking for a moment.
"Six months... That's not a short time, but it's still within an acceptable range. I won't be able to obtain a steady supply of Senzu Beans until six months from now. No choice but to wait."
Korin carefully cut four root sections and handed them to Krillin. "Cultivate them carefully. You can't take any more cuttings from this original plant for a while. Its Life Energy has been damaged, so it needs time to recover."
Only then did Krillin notice the pained look on Korin's face. Though he hid it well, it could not escape Krillin's eyes. What a good kitty, Krillin thought.
PS: Haha, I signed a contract! I just received the news that it was successful. From now on, Xiao Ci is a contracted author too! Haha, I'm a little happy, so I'm posting a chapter to celebrate.
Thank you all for your recommendation votes. Thank you so much. Your recommendation votes are what motivate me to keep writing. I still remember that when I first started this book two weeks ago, it took Xiao Ci three hours to write 2,000 words. I was exhausted back then. I used to rarely read novels with fewer than a million words, but now I can truly understand how difficult being an author is.
No matter how well or poorly it turns out, I'll finish my first book. I'm not particularly capable, but I'm estimating around 800,000 words. Next, we'll break out of Earth. Haha, I'll keep working hard.
I'm a little excited about signing my first contract. I haven't seen much of the world... Hahaha. In this new week, any big shots with recommendation votes to spare, please give some to Xiao Ci. Thank you very much!
