"Great Elder, I have one more request," Krillin said, rubbing his hands together, awkward yet polite as he made his plea to the Great Elder.
"Speak, child. Though my strength wanes, the Namekians will aid you," the Great Elder said with a smile.
"I was hoping to borrow your Dragon Balls. I'd like to ask Shenron for a favor. Earth's Shenron has limited power, so I wanted to petition the Namekian Shenron instead," Krillin explained slowly.
"Oh? From what I know, Kadatz was an exceptional Dragon Clan member, and as his child, Kami should also be a fine Dragon Clan warrior. The Dragon Balls' power should be sufficient, no?" the Great Elder asked, puzzled.
Kami smiled bitterly. "Three hundred years ago, to become a worthy god, I expelled the evil thoughts from my body. As a result, my power was split in two..."
"Foolish! How can a person's heart ever be completely pure? One without selfish desires ceases to be human. For an outstanding Dragon Clan member to split their own power in two—that's even more foolish!" the Great Elder suddenly spoke with force, scolding Kami loudly.
Kami lowered his head deeply, his face flushed with embarrassment. He rubbed his head and let out a sheepish laugh.
"No problem. Leave the Dragon Balls to Nail. He will gather them from the various villages," the Great Elder said, as if the scolding had drained his strength, slumping back into his chair weakly.
"Yes, Great Elder," Nail replied respectfully.
Though Nail wanted to fight Krillin, guarding the Great Elder was his foremost duty. He hesitated but never voiced the thought.
"Go, Nail. As a combat-type Namekian, the battlefield is your true domain," an aged voice came. The Great Elder smiled at Nail.
As a combat-type Namekian, Nail's heart yearned for battle, but he never forgot his primary duty.
"No, Great Elder," Nail said firmly, shaking his head.
"Go, child. Go, child!" the Great Elder said with a laugh. "Namek is safe now. Don't worry about me."
The Great Elder raised a hand and waved.
Nail turned to Krillin, his eyes blazing with fighting spirit.
Krillin gave a slight smile in return. "Come on, Nail."
Nail nodded faintly.
The two burst into motion, flying far into the distance, crossing countless rivers and isolated hills. They came to a stop atop a stone pillar shaped like an abalone.
Krillin gazed at Nail from afar, took a deep breath of the air, and twisted his neck, joints popping with a crack. His fighting spirit erupted, though he suppressed his battle power to around forty thousand, aiming to hone his technique and experience against Nail.
System, check Nail's stats.
Ding...
Time: Era 756
Name: Nail
Age: Young
Race: Namekian
Battle Power: 40,000
Potential: Several hundred million more, still higher than you
Training Speed: High-speed
Seeing that his potential was several hundred million higher, Krillin inwardly cried out, "Earthling, what sin have I committed!"
Nail shed his Namekian combat uniform and twisted his neck.
Suddenly, both burst into motion, charging straight at each other. A cold gleam flashed in Nail's eyes as he swung an elbow strike diagonally at Krillin. To Krillin, Nail's movements were naturally lacking. He dodged backward and thrust a straight punch at Nail. With his power suppressed, the attack didn't deal effective damage.
"Boom, boom, boom..." High-green aura flared again as Nail gathered immense energy around himself, pushing his ki to its peak. His figure blurred as he sped toward Krillin.
Krillin didn't hesitate, unleashing his own aura and charging straight at Nail. Boom, boom, boom—their forms flickered continuously as they exchanged hundreds of blows.
Their trajectories traced two distinct paths—green and golden—like arrows intertwining, flashing across the islands.
As a Namekian, Nail had special combat techniques. Mid-battle, his arm suddenly stretched dozens of meters, reaching for Krillin's lower body. Krillin smirked slightly—just like Piccolo. He used the momentum to leap upward, deftly dodging Nail's attack.
Nail was startled by Krillin's move. "You knew I'd do that all along?"
Krillin laughed heartily. "Piccolo on Earth is also a combat-type Namekian."
"Piccolo, huh?" Nail murmured.
Quickly, Nail refocused his battle aura and hammered a powerful strike at Krillin. Krillin increased his speed, moving nimbly around Nail. As a combat-type Namekian, Nail soon found a flaw in Krillin's movement and landed a heavy punch. "Not good," Krillin thought, quickly assuming a defensive stance. But Nail's punch was deliberate and immensely powerful. With a thunderous crash, Krillin was sent flying hundreds of meters.
As a combat-type Namekian, Nail's battle instincts were superb. He didn't let the opportunity slip, firing a long-charged energy blast at Krillin. The blast resembled Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon. Though Krillin's power far exceeded Nail's, he still sensed a threat from this attack. Halfway through being knocked back, Krillin could only cross his arms to shield himself.
"Boom, boom, boom!" Krillin was blasted far away, smashing through dozens of islands. A massive arc formed on the lake's surface, slow to dissipate—the result of high-energy ki evaporating the water as it passed.
"Pant, pant, pant!" Nail gasped for air, a faint smile creeping onto his lips. It seemed he had won this fight.
"Ptoo! Ptoo! Ptoo! Got a mouthful of dirt." Krillin slowly emerged from the smoke, wiping his mouth. His upper clothes were destroyed again, revealing a muscular torso with some superficial marks, but he had taken no real damage.
Nail's jaw dropped in disbelief. He knew the power of that attack well—it could have destroyed Namek itself. Krillin should have been out of the fight.
"That move was really powerful. No one at equal power could withstand it. Too bad you ran into me, hahaha," Krillin said, puffing himself up again.
"My turn to attack now." With that, Krillin's form flickered, appearing behind Nail and striking downward.
Nail plummeted like a kite with a cut string, crashing straight into the ground. With a boom, the island was pierced through, sending water splashing dozens of meters high. Nail sank deep into the lake, the water cushioning his fall and reducing the impact.
Water sprayed dozens of meters into the air as a light rain began to fall. Krillin didn't pursue; he sensed Nail's ki from the sky, knowing Nail was using the moment to recover.
About five minutes later, Nail slowly rose from the water, drenched, veins bulging on his body, green liquid dripping from him into the lake below. He panted heavily.
"Your strength exceeds my imagination—you are truly powerful. At first, when the Great Elder said you could save Namek, I was somewhat dismissive, but now I've changed my view. You indeed have the ability to save Namek, but I will not admit defeat." Nail spoke calmly to Krillin.
"Take this, Krillin! This is my strongest technique." Nail shouted at Krillin.
Krillin truly admired Nail's fierce fighting spirit. To have fought to this point, Nail was holding on purely by sheer willpower.
As Nail finished speaking, his body underwent a slight change, seeming to grow taller. "Could this be the Namekian Giantification technique? But it doesn't look like it—I've seen Piccolo use it, and his body was far larger, and his movements became sluggish. Nail wouldn't be that foolish." Krillin thought as he observed the changing Nail.
Then, Nail's Ki underwent a terrifying shift—100,000... 200,000... 400,000, reaching its limit.
Krillin, standing nearby, couldn't help but exclaim, "His Battle Power actually increased tenfold!" The air for hundreds of miles around the two trembled, and even the boulders shook.
Krillin dared not be careless. He hastily mobilized all his Ki, but he was still 70,000 points behind Nail. A figure flashed behind Krillin. "So fast!" Before Krillin could even see Nail's form, he was sent flying backward. Nail's attacks rained down on Krillin like a storm.
Krillin had already taken considerable damage. He burst his Ki and forcefully fled backward. Nail's arms suddenly stretched out, locking Krillin in place ten meters away. A crackling sound came from Nail's antennae as energy gathered. Krillin could sense the power contained within—if it hit him, he would either die or be severely wounded.
With all his might, Krillin managed to break free just a little. He raised one hand slightly and shouted softly, "Destructo Disc!" He formed a Destructo Disc and slashed it toward Nail's arms.
In an instant, Nail's arms were severed cleanly. Krillin seized the chance to break free and flew upward. Seeing this, Nail gave a faint smile, and the energy from his two antennae shot toward Krillin.
"Boom!" Krillin was struck head-on and crashed directly to the ground. Though he wasn't sent flying, the power of those two energy blasts was no weaker than his earlier attacks—roughly estimated at 400,000 each.
Nail watched Krillin get hit, a slight smile curling at the corner of his mouth. Then he closed his eyes and slammed heavily into the rocks behind him, collapsing onto the ground as if all life had left him.
