The enormous shadow charging toward them had apparently not expected a massive shield to suddenly appear before it. Unable to stop in time, it crashed straight into the city-wall-like shield with a roar.
"Boom—!"
A thunderous impact rang out, kicking up a blast like a raging gale.
Yet the enormous shield remained completely unharmed. Instead, the gigantic shadow was sent flying back as if it had bounced off, blasted away even faster than it had charged in.
Only then did Noah clearly see the true form of the enormous shadow.
It was a huge magical beast that somewhat resembled a dragon, though it looked considerably more ferocious.
And riding on the beast's back was a person.
A girl with flowing crimson hair, tightly gripping a steel-colored spear whose tip resembled a beast's claw.
Noah's pupils contracted at the sight of her.
"Wooo—!"
The next moment, the huge magical beast that had been knocked back let out an enraged roar. Its wings shook violently as it dove toward Noah in the most savage manner possible.
"Whoosh—!"
Plummeting from the sky at high speed, the gigantic magical beast had completely turned into a black shadow, carrying a sharp whistling sound as it crashed down.
Judging by that momentum, if it struck the ground, it would at least gouge out a massive crater.
Yet, facing the charging magical beast, Noah snapped back to his senses. A sharp gleam flashed through his eyes. Rather than retreat, he advanced. With a bang, his entire body shot into the sky, fearlessly meeting the terrifying beast head-on.
"Watch out!"
