A thief had stolen an artifact from the Cathedral of Favonius—the culprit was a thief known as Strange Bird. This originally had nothing to do with Amber, but upon hearing that Strange Bird was highly skilled at controlling a Wind Glider, she immediately became interested. Thus, the examination changed into a pursuit of the thief Strange Bird.
The reason the Cathedral of Favonius artifact had been stolen was deliberate as well. It had been arranged by Rosaria, who had tampered with the artifact and left elemental traces on it. These were traces that only those with Visions—or rather, those capable of controlling elements—could see. Strange Bird could never have discovered them. Though Strange Bird was famous among thieves, he was not a Vision holder.
Under normal circumstances, Vision holders had no need to become thieves or join the Treasure Hoarders. With the strength of a Vision holder, earning money was easy. They might not become fabulously wealthy, but living without worries over food and clothing was simple enough. There was absolutely no need to become thieves or Treasure Hoarders.
