• Li Yuan’s court discussed allying with rival rulers until Duan Lang crashed into the palace, defeated eleven attackers, and demanded that Li Tang leave the Central Plains or die.
• Li Yuan chose exile, and Duan Lang recommended the Eastern Isles to him while giving the Li clan one month to depart.
• Duan Lang killed the Western Turks’ leader to prevent them from exploiting the chaos in DTZ, leaving both Turkic territories in disorder.
