The Chaos Vermilion Bird Egg in the Extreme South

After hearing Li Yun's account, the Vermilion Bird asked no more questions.

Neither of them spoke for some time afterward.

As darkness swallowed their surroundings, the curiosity on Li Yun's face grew.

The deeper they went, the more clearly Li Yun could see peculiar points of light in the distance.

"What are those...?"

Li Yun raised an eyebrow and activated his Eye of Heaven and Earth.

In an instant, the Eye of Heaven and Earth blazed. Brilliant gold and silver light swept across the entire area.

As far as he could see, a peculiar energy rippled from those points of light. They were the color of Chaos. Faint as they were, they were genuine wisps of chaos qi.

"Chaos qi!"

"How could it be inside heaven and earth?"

Shocked, Li Yun asked, "Fellow Daoist Vermilion Bird, does the Extreme South Land end at Chaos?"

The thought shook him.

The Primordial World had been created by carving it out of Chaos. Though Chaos lay beyond it, the world itself was an independent realm.

There was only one way to leave the Primordial World: through the Star Domain. Even then, one had to reach certain special regions of the Star Domain to enter the Outer Chaos. Only beyond that lay Chaos itself.

The Outer Chaos kept chaos qi from invading. Any that entered it would be devoured by the Star Domain, transformed into Stellar Force, and eventually become pure spiritual energy within the Primordial World.
