Origin and Apprenticeship

Li Yun was a transmigrator who arrived in the Primordial Era a thousand years before seeking a master. Born from a Human-Witch union, he initially possessed only a slightly stronger body than an ordinary human and concealed the unawakened Witch side of his lineage. Knowing Xuandu's future importance to the Human Teachings, Li Yun accompanied him to Kunlun Mountain and passed Laozi's assessment alongside him. 1

Laozi accepted Xuandu as a direct disciple but made Li Yun his sole inner disciple because of his Human-Witch bloodline and the hostility between the Three Pure Ones and the Ancestor Witches. Upon formally entering the Human Teachings, Li Yun awakened the God-Tier Trait System and received Child of Destiny, Great Witch Bloodline, and Top-Tier Comprehension from its Newbie Gift Pack. 1

He chose the demanding Nine Revolutions Mysterious Technique over the more accessible Supreme Purity Sacred Art, pursuing its potential to Attain Dao through Strength. 2

Pangu Lineage

The Three Pure Ones later recognized that Li Yun was not merely a Human-Witch hybrid, but a bearer of Pangu bloodline. This recognition evolved Child of Destiny into its Rainbow-tier Divine Trait form and led to Li Yun being recorded as a low-grade Pangu Clan member. 17 19

His bloodline continued to strengthen through cultivation and encounters within the Witch Clan. By the time he fought the White Tiger Clan, his physical strength, defense, and raw power had increased by hundreds of times. 96

Yang Mei later explained that Li Yun's Pangu bloodline, talent, and choice to Attain Dao through Strength made him a likely vessel or target for Pangu's reincarnation. Li Yun is ambitious, calculating, and highly conscious of survival. His original decision to follow Xuandu to the Human Teachings was motivated by Laozi's protection, status, and resources, while his later cultivation choices consistently favor greater long-term potential over easier advancement. 1 2

He is also loyal to those who aid him. Although Yuanshi Tianzun offered to accept him as a personal disciple, Li Yun chose to remain under Laozi and emphasized his gratitude toward Xuandu for helping him enter the Human Teachings. 5 15
