Background / History

Ye Wuyou was born into the Night Clan under the stigma of being an illegitimate son. His family was destroyed by Ye Han, and he and his younger brother, Ye Shang, were pursued by Night Clan members while fleeing. Ye Shang protected him during their escape, but later died after becoming increasingly bloodthirsty and suffering a cultivation deviation. The loss became Ye Wuyou's lasting trauma and the source of his determination to keep those close to him from becoming “murderous demons.” 80 384 645

He first appeared as the calm leader of an opposing team in the Spirit Hall Holy Son selection. During the match, he used his shadow-based abilities to ambush Feng Xiaoyu and Luo Chen, then covered the arena with his Eternal Night domain. 58 59

During Death Training Camp, Ye Wuyou was hunted by students attempting to forcibly annex survivor bases. Gu Chen's group found him severely wounded, brought him to their base, and treated his injuries. Ye Wuyou accepted Gu Chen's invitation to join them, becoming a Level 59 Soul King shortly afterward. 76

Ye Wuyou later returned to the Night Clan to avenge his family. After his vengeance was fulfilled, he declined to remain for personal power alone, instead pledging himself to Gu Chen. He received the inheritance of the Level One Deity Death God and began the Death God's Nine Trials. Ye Wuyou is composed, alert, and highly pragmatic in combat. While being pursued during Death Training Camp, he immediately concealed himself and stayed ready to draw the Purple Winged Angel when he sensed another presence. 76

His experiences with his younger brother made him fiercely protective of innocence. He specifically asked Gu Chen to keep Luo Chen from becoming a murderous person, regarding this as his only remaining request. 80
