Background / History

Helian Wang is Helian Duzun’s son and the Heaven Annihilation Pavilion’s Young Pavilion Master. His master, King Yama, had never appeared before him in person; all of Helian Wang’s instruction occurred in dreams. Helian Duzun later revealed King Yama’s identity as a peerless Upper Realm figure and told Helian Wang that the pavilion’s long-term plans were intended to pave his path toward the supreme Dao. Helian Wang accepted this expectation, vowing to bring the pavilion greater glory. 479

By the time he entered the Peak Attainment Realm, Helian Wang was only slightly over twenty and had already reached the summit of the Yin Yang Divine Palace in an earlier expedition. His strength exceeded his cultivation realm to such an extent that others inferred he had surpassed the normal limits of Peak Attainment cultivators. 779 780

He became fixated on Qin Jishi after learning of Qin’s rapid rise. Initially sent to recover the Corpse Controller Venerable, Helian Wang used the accusation of “traitor” to distance the Heaven Annihilation Pavilion from the Corpse Controller Venerable’s actions, while using the encounter to test Qin Jishi’s strength. 717 721 725

Helian Wang later guided Qin Jishi through the Yin Yang Divine Palace, intending to let Qin face the deadly trial for the Yin-Yang Grass before taking the reward and devouring Qin at his weakest. The plan failed; Qin returned from the Ninety-ninth Floor unharmed, leaving Helian Wang unsettled and eager for a direct rematch. 793 805 824

During their agreed fight to the death, Helian Wang unveiled the Golden Armor Domain, dark-gold power, and other hidden techniques. Qin Jishi ultimately critically injured him, but Helian Duzun intervened and saved his life. 841 848 852 857

Much later, Helian Wang operated under the identity of Ghost Mask and used the name Ancestor Xuanming. Su Tianqing’s Nine Radiance God-Locking Array forced his disguise away, exposing him as Helian Wang from the Black and White Domain. 1262 1767

Helian Wang’s ambition is immense: he proposes ruling both the Black and White Domain and eventually the Upper Realm. Yet he refuses to let others defeat Qin Jishi for him, believing that personally overcoming a worthy rival is necessary for his state of mind and future path. 769 770 755
