Background / History

Akira is the eldest son of Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, and Biwako Sarutobi. Though his soul originated from another world, he was raised in Konoha as a member of the Sarutobi Clan, inheriting both the clan’s innate divine strength and Hiruzen’s extraordinary aptitude for ninjutsu. He trained from childhood, graduated from the Ninja Academy, and fought in the Second Shinobi World War alongside his peers. 1 3

Near the war’s end, Akira was grievously wounded and lost his right eye. The Will of Fire System restored the eye and tasked him with spreading the Will of Fire, becoming Hokage, defeating Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, and forcing the Will of Fire upon her. 2

The death of Senju Nawaki profoundly changed Akira’s outlook. Witnessing children sent to die in war convinced him that Konoha’s existing order had failed its people.
