History
Early Primordial Era
The world begins as an immense, desolate realm rich in innate spiritual energy, ancient mountains, spiritual roots, ores, true water, savage beasts, and powerful cultivators. Mount Buzhou dominates this early landscape as the pillar of heaven 2.
The Dragon, Phoenix, and Kirin clans initially stand as its foremost powers. Their war devastates the Western lands, breaks spiritual veins, and leaves much of the world scarred by resentment and tribulation qi 6 8.
Rise of New Orders
Following the Dragon-Han Initial Tribulation, the three great clans retreat or disperse, while figures such as the Three Pure Ones, Zhen Yuanzi, Hong Yun, Di Jun, Tai Yi, Nuwa, and Ming He rise into prominence 8 9.
Nuwa’s creation of humanity introduces a new race whose destiny becomes increasingly central to the world’s future. Xuan Wazi’s teachings give the Human Race cultivation methods, combat knowledge, and practical survival skills suited to the Primordial Era 42 43.
Houtu’s establishment of the Six Paths Reincarnation creates a world-spanning system for souls and death. The resulting merit transforms her into the manifestation of Reincarnation, while the Earthly Dao becomes a force capable of standing against the Heavenly Dao 92 93 131.
Collapse and Mending of Heaven
Mount Buzhou eventually fractures, causing the heavenly structure to fail, the Heavenly River to overflow, and primordial forces to rage across the land 122 136.
The world is stabilized through the erection of four heavenly pillars and Nuwa’s mending of the sky. The restored structure is less indestructible than the former Mount Buzhou-supported heaven, but the immediate threat of collapse ends 137.
The mending revitalizes the four continents: spiritual energy becomes abundant, rivers settle, mountains and lands recover, and the wounds of the Witch-Demon Great Tribulation begin to heal 145.
Tripartite Era
After the Earthly Dao’s completion and the rise of Human Dao destiny, the world enters a tripartite balance between Heaven, Earth, and Humanity. The Heavenly Dao’s former dominance is reduced, while the Earthly Dao controls reincarnation and earthly authority and the Human Dao spreads through the growing Human Race 131 143.
After Hongjun’s defeat, the balance becomes formalized: Hong Lei governs the Heavenly Dao, Houtu governs the Earthly Dao, and the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors administer the Human Dao. The Nine Saints withdraw into guardianship rather than directly ruling the world 307 308.
Age of Dharma Decline and Restoration
In the era after the Journey to the West, the world enters a prolonged peace, but its spiritual qi and origin begin to decline. Xuan Wazi discovers that the Primordial World’s origin is being extracted toward Purple Cloud Palace 301.
Hongjun’s plan uses the world’s origin, the cultivation of the Nine Saints, and the laws of three thousand demon gods to pursue Creation Godhood, placing the entire world at risk 302.
After Hongjun is suppressed, Xuan Wazi extracts the stolen origin and returns it to the land. He then transforms and integrates the demon gods’ law powers into the Heavenly Dao, enriching the world’s spiritual energy and making its laws more complete 307.

- Xuan Wazi identifies the Primordial World as the “chessboard” in his cosmic struggle against Hongjun, with living beings serving as the pieces affected by their contest 51.
- Its post-restoration spiritual energy becomes richer than before the Age of Dharma Decline due to the integration of the three thousand demon gods’ law powers 307.
