Chapter 81: Sniper Kill
After blowing out the eye peeking from the corner of the window, the sniper stayed behind his Silenced Rifle. "I killed one," he said flatly.
Behind him, a shirtless Black man pulled off his headphones. "Tom and the others failed. They were taken out almost as soon as they broke in. Alan, we underestimated them."
"Captain, there shouldn't have been any fighters in that apartment..." Alan said.
Their team had only twenty-four members, most of whom had been sent to follow Old Wang, the Young Lord, and the others.
Only six remained here. Six were more than enough to watch the four remaining members of Messiah. Besides, their superiors hadn't ordered them to kill every last one. It didn't matter if a few escaped.
But shortly after the others left, their mole inside Messiah called. The superconductor had been found. It wasn't buried somewhere; the four people in that apartment had it.
Just four people: a female doctor, a tech geek, and two newcomers.
The Black Captain promptly sent two men to eliminate them and retrieve the superconductor. As far as he was concerned, those two could handle four weaklings with ease.
Instead, they had been taken out in moments.
"I didn't expect one of the newcomers to be so dangerous," the Black Captain said. "That's my mistake. We didn't know what Messiah's two new recruits could do, but I assumed they were useless. I should've gone myself."
He switched channels and spoke to the observer in the Joestar Apartments' surveillance room. "Where are they?"
"I don't know!" the observer replied. "They hacked every camera. I was completely outmatched. They went straight through my Sun Shield system, and my computer's fried..."
"Huh? Did they leave a hacker behind?" the Black Captain asked.
He checked the files.
