Huang Ji first discovers his information-perception ability while investigating Doctor Liang's kidnapping. He tracks the kidnappers through details such as tire tracks and footprints, determines that they remain inside Hua Village, and leaves police a ransom note bearing kidnapper Lü Zongmin's real name. 5

He later joins and leads companions including Luo Yan, Lin Li, Alan, Adams, and Evil Dragon in conflicts involving the Illuminati, alien forces, and interstellar powers.
